the fears of other beings and use it against them.

━ the most basic application of this power is sensing or reading the fears of other beings . this leads into the more intense application , which would be projecting the fears of another into reality . elias at this moment of time during the season , does not know what he is capable of , meaning this exact ability , but as time continues on he will realize that he can indeed ; read and extract the fears of other beings , before transmitting them into reality ; it is evident that he wouldn't do it purposefully since he has no ill intentions .

however , doing so may have grave consequences . if he chooses to send the victims fear into overdrive , they are forced to experience their greatest fear , which paralyzes them , until they die of a heart attack ; if exposed long enough to the fear at hand . as one could see the change in reality can sometimes cause injury to some victims , while in the extreme it causes a heart attack which can result in death . ━

━ elias could also create realistic illusions based on a person's fears . his illusions may be limited to visible manifestations that affect only sight , or affect all the five senses so that they cannot be distinguished from reality . we have not visually seen this happen as of yet , yet this method would only be used while he's attacking people within a group , presumably because he has to attack them individually because each persons fear is different . however , it is just as effective as projecting someone's fear it into reality, because the victim will think the illusions are real . later on in the season we will see that elias uses this tactic to help people instead of using it against them .

it is quite known that the boy would rather help someone overcome their fears rather than using their fears against them . he will only project fears into reality with another's permission or if he is using this tactic to protect someone from an enemy / harmful person ━

━ this is ability was created due to the demons' blood within him intertwining with the witch side of himself . it is the ability to sense and read the fears of other beings and use it against them . also , there are many ways that one can bypass this abilities effects , and that is by overcoming their fears ; which then they will be able to access their powers , and escape the illusion . it is also said that when this power is used on witches , the fear will paralyze their powers , making them unable to defend themselves because of their powers being tied to their emotions , however , this rarely happens , and when it does the witches are inexperienced or weaker . ━
