She was never the type to stick to a routine. Besides, life was short and it was a privilege to live in the U.S. Capitol and have what she did. Because of this, every Sunday was something different.

She was on her way to find a cozy place to finish her articles that were due. The small apartment off Massachusetts Avenue was nice, but there was so much more. Coffee shops, a bookstore, a library-it didn't matter where she went. Just as long as she was consciously exploring the place she called home. Often, she would ride the metro and get off at a random stop, and stumble upon a good place. It wasn't always the safest, but Google Maps and her pepper spray always had her back.

And as she gazed out of the grimy window of the metro, she couldn't help wondering if she would ever find someone in a city where nobody seemed to stay.

don't really know where I'm going with this but I just wanna write something good bc I know it gets hard to find new stories sometimes!

and also this chapter is super short and the first couple probably will be like that. They'll get longer as I go!
