Last summer I devoured Circe, The Song of Achilles, Lavinia, and other fantastic books about stories in Greek mythology. I was inspired to write my own retelling of a Greek myth that I love: Medusa. Serpent and Stone is the result!
I have taken significant creative liberties with the myth of Medusa, as well as other parts of Greek mythology. The myth of Medusa in this story is very different from the original Greek myth, and that change is intentional. Apologies if you are looking for accurate depictions of Greek mythology, but this is what I have decided to do for my story.
I hope you enjoy my interpretation of this classic story!
