Steven Universe x Reader One-Shots

Steven x reader

This one isn't a request, but I wanted some good ol' Steven before I went on with the requests. This is also going to be based off of the episode "Snow Day" from Steven Universe Future.

Steven wakes up to his alarm. He yawns and stretches, picking up his phone. "All right Little Homeschool, what's on the docket for today? You can do it!" He gets up and gets ready before walking downstairs to make his protein shake and say hi to his best friend, (Y/N). "You really gonna miss the moss egg-ssential meal of the day?" Amethyst says from behind, there are eggs placed over her eyes. (Y/N) giggles at her pun and goes to sit at the table. "Of course not. I've got all my morning nutrients in this protein shake" Amethyst then pokes the yolk of the egg-eyes and says, "dude, you're making me sad!" (Y/N) frowns, "Steven, you should try an have something to eat instead of a protein shake." "I'll be fine!" He then turns around to garnet holding his cheeseburger backpack. "Steven, I packed everything you're gonna need for today in your cheeseburger backpack." "Uh, I don't really use that anymore. Besides, I packed my own bag." Cat Steven's head then pops out of the bag, "At least pet this cat." Cat Steven meows, "Why was I going to need... Never mind. Got to go." He sighs and walks to the door, but Pearl stops him from leaving. "Hold it. According to my weather application, it's going to snow all day and overnight. You're going to freeze if you don't put on a puffer, a hat, and two scarves. Better make it three." She mutters the last part, and Steven's words are muffled as he says, "Pearl, I need to get going!" "Classes don't start for another couple of hours, though." (Y/N) cuts in. "Yeah, but I have errands to run before classes start." Garnet then places a hand on his head, "Of course. go get 'em champ." (Y/N), Pearl, and Amethyst walk over and place a hand in his head too, cheering him on before he leaves. (Y/N) then sighs, catching the attention of the gems. "Yo, (Y/N). What's wrong?" Amethyst asks, going over to sit on the couch. "It's just that Steven's been acting a little off lately. I'm worried about him." Garnet reassures her, saying that he'll be fine.

||(Y/N)'s POV||

I was just sitting on the couch. I was thinking about what Steven was up too, and where the gems went. I suddenly hear a scream from outside and I jump up from my seat, rushing to the window. Steven is running away from... mini-Stevens? I put my (F/C) hoodie on and walk onto the snowy sand. Steven runs to me, telling me to hide. "What? Why?! What is happening?!" "They're trying time make me play Steven Tag!" I look at him in pure confusion, 'Isn't that what Amethyst and him used to play when he was younger?' Steven's face then becomes pale, "Watch out!" I quickly turn around to see a purple Steven, with an evil smirk on her face, as her hand reaches out for me. I've been tagged... Steven looks at Amethyst-Steven and laughs, "Jokes on you! (Y/N) can't even shapeshift!" I smile and turn around to face him, "Yeah, but I can still play!" His expression changes from triumphant to terrified in a matter of seconds as I start walking closer to him. He sprints away, with me running close behind. A huge snowball shoots past me, and I see Sardonyx Steven. My grin grows 10 times wider as I see Steven hiding in the snow. Before I could try and tag him, Garnet has already crashed herself into the snow-steven, "It was a snowman.. with Steven's jacket. Noooooooooo!" I pat Garnet's shoulder. "We need to go look for him. I bet he knows we won't give up until he joins the game. We gotta bring out the big guns." I say as I take Steven's jacket, putting it on. Pearl and Amethyst jump down and look at me, along with Garnet. "You don't mean..." Amethyst starts, I nod and sigh, "it's our only change at getting him." The three of them nod and start to fuse into Alexandrite Steven. I stare at them with starts in my eyes. I've seen them form Alexandrite before, but she never ceases to amaze me. Especially as Steven... ANYWAY- (Yo shut tf up we all know you like him.) I see Alexandrite Steven attacking normal Steven. (Oh god, lots of Stevens) He forms his bubble, the fire surrounding him as he yells, "I really didn't want to do this, but you leave me no choice. I JOIN THE GAME!" He then jumps onto Alexandrite Steven's head, trying to land near the lighthouse.

||Author's POV||

"There is no way they can catch me here... Ah?" Steven then sees Alexandrite Steven unfusing into Ruby, Sapphire, Amethyst, and Pearl ((Y/N) was in their hand and she's on top with Sapphire). Only 3 gems jump down as Steven forms bubbles around his hands. "Enough is enough!" He easily gets through the barrier, managing to also land on the lighthouse. "You shouldn't of messed with me. Huh?" He looks down and sees (Y/N)'s and Sapphire's hand on him. Sapphire and (Y/N) then mutter, "tag." Everything around Steven seems to shatter. "Oh no. Is this the end of my adult life?" He then softly lands in the snow. Amethyst laughs while Ruby and Sapphire fused back into Garnet. "You have to turn into little Steveeeeen!" Amethyst yells. "Hmph, no." Steven then starts to pout. You walk over to him and smile, a light blush on your cheeks, "will you at least do it for me?" He blushes and hesitantly nods, before becoming little Steven. Everyone awes at him as he pouts, a bright blush now on his face. "He's so cute!" Everyone yells. He then stands up, "No, I'm not! This is tough for me, you know? I-I feel like no matter how hard I try. You still see me like this." "Steven... we just want to spend time with you. You've been so busy and we miss hanging with you like we did when you were-." You're then cut off by Steven. "A kid? I don't want to disappoint you, but this isn't me anymore. Please I need to to see me..." He then shifts back to his normal self, "...for who I am now." Suddenly, everyone is hugging Steven, including you. "We're sorry, Steven..." you mutter to him. The gems then start to apologize as he tells them it's fine before sneezing. You take his jacket off and hand it to him. "Hey, Steven? I'm sorry... I really miss hanging out with you. You're always so busy with little homeschool and helping everyone to hang out with me, and I feel like we've been drifting apart..." You rub your arm as he looks at you. Steven looks at you and gives you a hug. "I'm sorry too... I've been avoiding hanging out with you, because I didn't know how to tell you about how I felt..." You back away from the hug, "What do you mean?" He then sighs and looks you in the eyes, "What I'm trying to say is that... I love you. I have for a while now, but I've been too nervous to tell you, because I know you probably don't feel the same way-" You then cut him off by kissing him. It was a short, but passionate kiss. You two put your foreheads against each other's, laughing and blushing. Amethyst then coughs, causing your blushes to darken as you look at them. They're all smiling. "Um... Steven, if you need to get back to work now, we'll understand." Pearl says, all of them still in small Steven form. He smiles and looks back at you, then to them. "Well, I cant, because, tag, you're it!" He then tags you, which catches you off guard. "I guess we'll have to update the game now." Garnet says as you then tag her. She shifts into older Steven, as you all get ready to get them. "Perfect." Garnet then summons her gauntlets, "Now, you all better run." Steven and you laugh as you chase them down the hill. You all played it for the rest of the day.

The next day, you're all getting into the Dondai, you sitting in the passenger's side, Steven at the wheel, Pearl and Garnet in the back, and Amethyst on top of the car. You give him a quick kiss before he starts the car, the five of you driving off to little homeschool.
