The Sun Before Dark (Poem #1)

7 1 1

The paths, lit by the sun's fading light,

Few people traveled at this time of night.

The pastel pink, purple, blue, yellow,

Held the sun up, making most feel mellow

It peaks behind the tops of trees,

Making the surrounding life feel at ease.

Staring at this lovely sight,

I wonder if it'll ever be night.

When the dark sets in,

And the colors turn grim,

I wonder if it'll ever be day again.

I wonder if I'll see that sight again.

And when the night stays,

I wonder for what feels like days,

If I'll ever see the golden trim's arch.

And I just want to see,

The sun before dark.
