Epilogue

"Babe, can you hand me my toolbox?" Paul called from the attic and Elizabeth quickly ran up there to hand him, once again, the toolbox that he forgot to take with him every time he went to work on the attic.

"Wow, you're almost finished." Elizabeth admired Paul's work. He'd been working on turning the attic into their new bedroom and just over the course of two weeks he'd already made so much progress.

"Yeah, sure." Paul chuckled, in his mind, Elizabeth was easily impressed with the work he'd been doing.

"Don't forget we're going to Sam's for lunch in about two hours." Elizabeth told him and pecked his lips before hurrying back down so she could continue to paint her old bedroom walls.

After about an hour and a half of Paul working hard in the attic and Elizabeth finishing to paint the last two layers in the room, Paul asked her if she wanted to take a shower with him.

They got ready to go to Sam's and Elizabeth started putting some food she made earlier into a basket to take with them. When she turned around to go put the basket in Paul's truck, she gasped and put the basket back down. Paul was sitting in front of her on one knee.

"I know we're both still very young, our whole lives still ahead of us, but if there's one thing that I am absolutely sure of, it's that I want to spend all that time with you by my side. You have already changed my life in so many ways and made me a better person every day and I can't wait to see what the future brings us. Elizabeth Scott, will you do me the honor of marrying me?" Paul asked Elizabeth and pulled out the most beautiful ring she'd ever seen, simple yet breathtaking.

"Paul Lahote, I wouldn't want anything more than to marry you." Elizabeth grinned, happy tears threatening to spill and Paul smiled widely, carefully placing the engagement ring on her finger and then kissing her passionately like never before.

"Alright, soon-to-be-Mrs-Lahote, shall we?" Paul grinned and they took off to Sam and Emily's, where they happily announced their engagement to the rest of the pack and their pack lunch turned into a celebration.

Elizabeth Scott was an enigma to everyone around her, everyone but Paul Lahote, who knew her every move and her every thought. Every time their eyes met, Elizabeth's heart warmed and a wave of complete happiness filled her.

Paul Lahote was her call of the heart and she was his.
