(Taehyung's POV)

It has been two days. This mysterious girl still sends me voicemails. Is this a prank or is she really in trouble? I feel so guilty listening to the messages that are meant for her mother. Ahhhhhh I wish Namjoon hyung would hurry up. He's an expert in this, why is it taking him so long?

"Taehyung?" Appa knocked on the door twice and opened it, interrupting my thoughts.

"Huh? Yes? Do you need anything Appa?"

"We have a meeting tomorrow. You have prepared your notes and the presentation right?" he asked me. Frick. I was so distracted by this mysterious girl that I didn't even do half of it.

"Yes, I did," I lied through my teeth. I'm sorry Appa.

"Good job Taehyung. Do well tomorrow. We need to get this contract," he said and left with a smile. It's gonna be a sleepless night for me. I wonder if the girl is spending a sleepless night too?

(Third Person POV)

She certainly was. Jinhee hadn't slept for 2 nights in a row and she felt lethargic and sick. It had been 2 days since she talked to her mother and instead of reporting her missing, she sent voicemails, hoping that her mother would listen to them. "This is pathetic," a voice inside her said. "Why do you send voicemails to a person who's never going to listen to them?"

"We tell god everything, thinking that he's listening to us. In the same way, I'm telling my mother everything, regardless of whether or not she's listening," she told the voice. Everyone thought of her as a weirdo who talks to herself, but no one knew the real reason. She felt alone. Left out. Isolated from the world. She never had any friends whom she could trust, nor did she have any siblings she could talk to, causing her to get into the habit of speaking to herself. Talking to a pessimistic version of herself didn't really help her in any situation, but she stopped feeling lonely as she had someone to talk to. "Nobody likes an outcast. That's why no one likes you," it always told her.

A loud ping echoed through the room, making Jinhee snap out of her thoughts. She scrambled towards her phone, her anxiousness being replaced by hope as she checked the message. Her face dropped when she realised that it wasn't her mother. "I told you that she won't reply. Don't get your hopes up because you'll get hurt in the end."

(Taehyung's POV)

"TAEHYUNG! HELP ME!!" a faceless girl screamed. A hooded man was pointing a gun at her.

"DON'T SHOOT HER!" I yelled and started running towards the girl. When I was a few feet away, a loud bang echoed across the abandoned street and the girl fell onto the ground.

"NO!" I yelled and sat up. The same nightmare. Drenched in cold sweat, I rubbed my eyes and looked at the illuminated clock. 3:30 am. I fell asleep while doing the presentation. I opened my laptop and started working on it again, but I couldn't concentrate. I ended up finishing it somehow and decided to get some sleep. As soon as my head hit the pillow, my alarm rang. How long had I been working for?

I lazily dragged myself into the bathroom and got ready. I skipped breakfast and made my way to work, trying my best to not look like an insomniac hag. There was still half an hour before the meeting started, so I decided to drink some bubble tea. Halfway through my drink, another voicemail popped up.

"Omma. There's a hooded stranger outside our house," she said and I choked on my bubble tea.
