Liam stayed for a few days. We managed not to get into too much trouble. We may have kissed when I went to check on him. Lydia didn't understand why I needed to see him right after we'd gone up to bed. It didn't matter that he was a grown arse adult, he was still our guest (even if was his house) so I didn't want to leave him alone not knowing he was going to sleep well.
Lydia didn't find out but it was a frivolous thing to do. We couldn't be around each other without something happening so it was good for us all when he left.
After he'd gone Lydia brought up the chance conversation I'd had with Vulpa so we decided to look into the things she did. We went and bought fitness clothes since we realised neither of us had any clothes like that. We thought it'd give us the motivation to join Vulpa's classes and keep going to them. It was exciting, doing something for just the two of us.
After a bunch of different classes we found out Lydia preferred aerobics and I preferred yoga. I found out they were harder than I was expecting since I was so new to doing exercise like that. Vulpa was a fun instructor just like she promised, while still pushing her students every step of the way. We both got on with her like we could be friends.
I never thought getting sweaty in a gym class would bring me closer to anyone let alone Lydia. The steamy showers that came afterwards certainly helped.
While we were getting fit, the kids and the dog went to Peggy's or with one of their dads. I still wasn't talking to Noel too civilly but I agreed to visits as long as it was in Liverpool or Manchester. It wasn't the best for them because they were committed to recording in London but it was working.
...
As the middle of August approached I answered the door to find Bonehead stood there. He hadn't changed a bit since I last saw him. It was good to see him.
We weren't so close now I wasn't around the band all the time so it was pretty much out of the blue. I immediately thought something had gone wrong with the band again. Why else would he be at my door on his own?
"Hello." I smiled, trying to put my concerns aside.
"Hey, can I come in?"
"Yeah." I let him into the living room. "How's Kate and Lucy...?"
"And Jude." he added as we sat down. "They're all good. They're kind of why I'm here."
"What do you mean?"
That confused me even more. I wondered if he was trying to push our families to get on better but I didn't think he'd come in person to do that. We all got on at Christmas and birthdays but I just never got close to Kate because she was pretty private and stayed out of the public eye while I was throwing myself all over it.
"I know you're seeing Liam on the sly."
"I'm not!" I exclaimed, shocked he'd just come out with it like that.
It wasn't surprising that he thought that though given our history and the papers reporting those kinds of rumours any chance they got. Plus it was true, when the opportunity was there.
"Hear me out."
Liam had probably made comments here and there, maybe without even knowing he was doing it. That was the only way he could actually know we had something these days. Although it was probably obvious to anyone who knew us well enough that we hadn't fallen out of love, not in the slightest.
"I'm not though."
"Listen, I'm here to tell you to keep seeing him, you're meant for each other."
