On arriving at the entrance of the Dragon Valley, his quest interface refreshed once again. To be more precise, it showed the hint for his next step, requiring him to pay a visit to the ruler of the Dragon Valley.

When he saw this task, Gu Yan internally struggled for a while. The Dragon race was even more hostile towards the human race compared to the Elven race. If the latter simply disregarded you, then the former would actively attack you every time.

The Dragon race's setting was extremely difficult to grasp. Whether or not they attacked a player depended on the person's behaviour.

The Dragon Race's attitude towards humans was extremely terrible. It was rumoured that a player had once calculated that of all the other races available to players, the human race had the highest probability of being attacked by a Dragon.

This setting aligned with the backstory of the game, wherein humans were a greedy race. Every time a new dragon was born, it would inherit its predecessor's memories, and this message would continue to be passed down the generations.

Some humans would form a party to target lone dragons. After successfully pillaging their treasures, they would even dismember and clear out their companion's corpse, not leaving a single part behind.

The human race coveted their treasures and were not afraid of using cruel means to achieve their goals. The most humiliating fact was when some humans even rode on top of their bodies and came to be known as 'Dragon riders'.

There was no Dragon who would allow a lower being to ride atop their body. With their prestige as Dragons, this sort of act was considered to be the lowest form of humiliation and simply unbearable.

Dragon Riders did exist but it did not necessarily mean that these Dragons became mounts willingly. It was merely that they were forced into a master and slave contract after being suppressed.

Because of this setting, players in the game did not have the option of becoming a Dragon Rider; this class was something they could only think of. Gu Yan regretfully pushed this thought away. He was currently thinking of ways to secretly approach the Floating Isle in the heart of the Dragon Valley.

Just as he was currently thinking of how to approach the Isle without dying under the claws of the guarding dragons, he suddenly heard the sharp-eared cat hanging off his hand, mew.

"Ah Yan can just go straight in."

A deep and husky voice sounded beside his ear. Gu Yan blinked slowly before raising a hand to rub the little kitten's back.

Since it was his family's Qiuqiu who said so, he definitely would not lie. He simply did not know if it was the Eye of Vientiane in his inventory or the Holy artefact which he possessed that could prevent the Dragons from attacking him.

In the centre of the Valley, isles - both big and small - hovered mid-air. Gu Yan rode his flying mount, the Fire Falcon, whose wings burned like two blazing flames without hurting its owner.

The players gathered in the Dragon Valley were numerous and it was impossible to avoid them. Since he could not hide, Gu Yan simply ordered his flying mount to head straight towards the largest floating isle. His right hand held firmly onto the reins while his left hand carefully held the little kitten.

"How is his luck so good? He is not being attacked by the dragons!" Seeing a blazing red colour in the distance, a hunter used his 'Eagle Eye' skill and easily noticed that the person atop the mount was a magician. This magician was heading towards the most densely populated isle, yet was actually not stopped or attacked by these dragons —

Didn't players from human-race classes suffer an 80% chance of being attacked by the Dragons? Other classes only had a 50% chance, this was clearly class discrimination, ah.

Successfully landing on the floating isle without encountering any danger, Gu Yan released his mount. Earlier, on his way up, a large dragon had rushed to block him by stopping in front of him with its huge pair of wings. Unfortunately, it only managed to stare at him for a little while before quickly making way for him.

Why did this human carry such a confusing mix of scents? The Tree of Life, the Abyssal Demon's mark... and even the signet ring on his hand that represented the Death God's authority; The Alexis Birthstone.

It was simply unfathomable.

It did not intend on clashing against these three races. Watching the human on the Fire Falcon arrive on the isle, a dragon who had been sent as a representative politely greeted him, "Welcome, guest of the Dragon Valley."

Apart from the guards on the floating isle, the dragons in the Dragon Valley tended to assume their human forms more often, but would usually choose to leave their dragon horns unchanged. The dragon's horns were unlike the demon race's horns, they appeared to be much sharper.

Being addressed with the title of a 'guest made Gu Yan finally relaxed. The dragon that was sent to receive him did not wait for him to reply before telling him that their King was waiting to meet him.

This feeling of being treated as an esteemed guest made Gu Yan a little suspicious. But having the little cat in his arms lick his finger, he quickly forgot about this matter...

"If it's not too much, may I know what is Your Excellency's goal in coming to the Dragon Valley?" The entire way here, all the dragons' transformed human forms Gu Yan saw were relatively young until he met this person. He looked like a kindly senior but he was in fact, the ruler of the Dragon Valley.

A dragon's life span was different from a human's and naturally, was measured differently. Even if a dragon were to live for thousands of years, they could still be considered young while those who lived for tens of thousands of years could be considered to be in their prime. The dragon in front of Gu Yan had clearly lived for hundreds of thousands of years.

Faced with this question, Gu Yan silently checked his quest panel. This time around, the quest reward was something called the "Primal Chaos Key". Thus, he calmly replied, "For the Primal Chaos Key."

Saying so, Gu Yan took out the Eye of Vientiane and holy artefact from his inventory. These items were linked to the Primal Chaos Key and perhaps, would convince the other person of his motives.

The older dragon that looked rather amiable raised his brows challengingly, but his tone remained friendly, "Well, it's not impossible to give it to you. But, I also cannot give it to you for nothing. Young human, what do you think you can give in return for it?"

"What would you like me to do?" Gu Yan thought for a bit and directed the question back at him. The other person needed to state his request for it to be considered a quest, only then would his quest log be refreshed.

"There are many people from your human race who are very interested in becoming Dragon Slayers." Saying this, the Dragon's face did not reveal any changes but the pair of black pupils were acutely calm.

Without waiting for the human in front of him to speak, the Dragon suddenly went in an unexpected direction and continued speaking, "The south most floating isle is the Black Dragon's sacred land. My task for you is to retrieve the Black Dragon's heart."

"I know that the group gathered in front of the Dragon Valley is also here for the Black Dragon. It has kidnapped the Princess of the Human Kingdom and as a human yourself, such a task would be killing two birds with one stone. You should be glad."

Hearing this, Gu Yan's quest panel finally refreshed but he did not immediately open it up to check. He was momentarily baffled.

Requesting someone to kill a companion of the same race. Where was the supposedly untainted quest...?

A Dragon's heart was most likely their life source. In other words, to obtain the Black Dragon's heart simply meant he needed to slay the Black Dragon.

"Young man, I know what you are thinking. But the current Black Dragon cannot be considered to be a part of our race." The dragon's tone was extremely calm, but he still had the mood to go on, "The Black Dragon race holds the power of destruction. Their desire for power has led them to destroy their own kind and the very last Dragon of their race has already become nothing more than a monster with a twisted heart."

"It kidnapped the Princess because of her unique constitution that completely aligns with the requirements of the Demonic Sacrificial Ritual. It is attempting to obtain even greater strength through such a vile and evil method." Explaining to this point, the Dragon no longer continued and only silently looked toward the human in front of him.

The blessing from the Tree of Life, the Abyssal Demon Mark, the Death God's Signet ring...and the two objects he had brought out before. This human had the ability to complete this task.

A Dragon's strength did not grow over time, and instead, it would gradually diminish. It was just that for humans, their strength appeared to never change.

Now, in the entire Dragon Valley, he was the only Dragon with the power to suppress the Black Dragon. However, thousands of years ago, he promised to take care of the Black Dragon before the Supreme Deity succumbing to the pleas of the Black Dragon's mother right before her death.

At that time, the Black Dragon was merely a tiny egg. He never imagined the Black Dragon would walk down the same path of self-destruction like its predecessors.

"Alright." Gu Yan nodded his head and accepted this quest.

Unlike the entrance of the Dragon Valley where players saw various large and small floating isles in the sky, there was only one floating isle at the southernmost part of the Dragon Valley. But that wasn't too accurate either. The most realistic description would be that there was only one intact floating isle among the other destroyed isles.

If what the instance players saw along the way up until now could be described as a beautiful spring day, then the moment they stepped into the southern part of the Dragon Valley, it was as if they had suddenly been transported to a completely different map.

If you excluded the only intact floating isle, its surroundings only comprised of fallen debris and broken stones, as if a meteorite had just crashed through. Moreover, those isles that barely retained their original shape were broken beyond hope.

When Gu Yan arrived, he realised that the players who were at the entrance of the Dragon Valley earlier were already a step ahead of him. They had gathered many players and made sufficient preparations to become a Dragon Slayer in order to save the Human Princess. The hunter of the group had used his 'Eagle Eye' skill to locate the Black Dragon's base.

This was good too, he did not need to waste energy finding a team...

As a lone ranger, Gu Yan's biggest problem was to form raid teams. But just as he was thinking of this, his surroundings abruptly darkened. The ground was overcast by a massive shadow, as if a huge creature had blocked the sun.

"F*ck! The BOSS is already here, what should we do?! Our tanks haven't even arrived yet, ah!"

The Black Dragon carrying an aura of destruction appeared in the sky, its huge body and wings cast a shadow against the group of players on the ground, as if the apocalypse was about to dawn on them. Simply from its appearance, one could see its magnificent strength full of suppression.

With such a huge shadow above all of their heads, Gu Yan obviously noticed the Black Dragon right above him. This was the last remaining Black Dragon in this world...

In the sky, the Black Dragon flapped its huge wings. It only needed one breath to kill all the players on the ground, but the Black Dragon did not do so.

On the ground, there was a person who he could not hurt-

Looking down, the Black Dragon's gleaming red pupils reflected the figure of a human youth.
