Project Completed...But Failed

You were sitting in your small room, on your bed.  Yes, you did have a room, but most the time you barely ever use it.  Instead, you end up sleeping on your tree, although you do keep your stuff in there.
     You flopped back on your bed, daydreaming.  It had been a few days since Tails had announced his time machine.  You had a song stuck in your head, so you couldn't fight the urge just to sing it.

Take me on a whim...  

You started to think about all the adventures you had with Sonic and Tails, along with Amy and Knuckles.
Its not the sun that provided us, it's not the moon that divides us. This part reminded you about that time Sonic turned into a werehog and met Chip, known as Light Gaia.
I can barely swim...  When is Sonic going to learn how to swim?
And the current's coming in, and the current's coming in again. Your thoughts started to drift onto your other friends, like Silver and Blaze.

Stand up when you hear your name.  Shadow (AKA Ultimate Life Form) trying to get his memories back.
You remembered that robotic copy of Sonic that Eggman had built.  Metal Sonic, wasn't it?
We've got the same old hands.  Silver and Blaze's feelings for each other.  You could tell they had something when you knew them, but they'd never admit it to each other.
We've made the same old plans. Eggman making ridiculous plans to destroy Sonic, which all failed.  You continued to sing, not thinking anymore about that, and enjoying the song.

Bail out to the yellow raft
Its got a hole but we can last
We'll watch until it fades away...

Time to take it over
Look how far we've come
Some were never meant to come around
Some were never meant to leave the ground...

Timeskip to a few minutes later ~

     You finished singing the song, unaware of anything around you...or anyone.  Because Sonic was standing in the kitchen, listening to you song, since your voice carried this far.  He thought your voice was pretty, and was blushing as he listened. (So kawaii!) When you finished, he sighed, knowing he had to do something, because that's why he was on there.
     "Hey Y/N?" he called.  You groaned and rolled off your bed.  Then you stood up, and walked into the kitchen, where Sonic was waiting.  You noticed a small blush dusted across his cheeks, but you ignored it.
     "What do you want Sonic?" you asked him.
     "Tails said he finished that time machine he was making.  We should probably go see," he explained, the tiny blush disappearing finally, to his relief.  You nodded, and the both of you started to walk to Tails' Workshop.

Timeskip ~

     You sat down on the couch Tails had in his workshop.  Tails was standing next to Sonic, the time machine in front of you all.  You tapped your foot signaling Tails to talk.
     "Like Sonic said, I did finish it.  All we need to do is set a time and place to go and we can go there," Tails explained.
     "When are we going?" You asked.
     "How about now?" Sonic replied, also asking Tails.  Tails nodded, pushed a few buttons, turned a few knobs, and pulled a couple of levers, although you didn't understand what he was doing.
     You smiled when a variety of colors started to swirl in the machine, meaning it was probably working.  But then your smile turned into a frown when electricity started to spark around it.
          Electricity sparked off the time machine.  It rattled back and forth, threatening to hit one of you.
     "Take cover!" Tails yelled, and you, him, and Tails all dived behind the couch.  The machine continued to spark and rattle, knocking things down from shelves, but then light started to come out of it.
     "Now what?!" Sonic said in dismay, peering over the couch like the three of you.  Hesitantly, you started to creep forward towards the glowing machine.  As you got closer. It stopped glowing and rattling, which surprised you, but kept you going.
     As you sat in front of it, it did nothing but spark a few times.  You peered up at it, Sonic and Tails watching with anxious and worried expressions.  They were hoping nothing happened to you.
     All of a sudden, it gave one more tremendous rock.  Bright light burst from it, and something seemed to appear in the light.  It was too hard to see, but was in the shape of a head.  And then it fell out and on top of you.
     As the light cleared, you looked at what had fell on you.  It looked like Sonic!  Only he was a lighter blue, with shorter quills, pudgier, had black eyes instead of green eyes, and was shorter.  He slowly looked around, and noticed he was on top of you.  An enourmous blush appeared on his face, and he stood up, also helping you up.
     "Sonic?  Is that you?" You asked him. glancing at him and Sonic and back.
