Ch 18 Comfort Pt1

I stood by shocked as Riko dragged Aoi out of Flower Garden while Teru silently followed. I could see the protest on Aoi's face but I guess Kiyoshi will be more willing to talk after she leaves. Aoi can be a little intense when she's mad.

"Hey! Don't take either of them to some sleazy shop!!", I suddenly yelled at that hag as she left with both Kurebayashi.

Watching that witch carry them off made me uneasy because she could tell them anything while I'm not there. What if she starts telling them some embarrassing secret? I knew they were safe with her but I'm not safe when they're with her! I don't think I could handle Aoi's smirk if she hears about my type. She'll definitely call me a pervert again. I swear, I'm not a pervert!! I begged with a single tear of panic in my eye.

"It's fine, Kiyoshi. That was the plan from the start. It'd be uncomfortable with Teru here, right? I'm also not sure if Aoi would beat you up. We want you to be honest with us without being threatened. And I can guarantee your safety.", Boss assured both Kiyoshi and me.

I calmed down my anger towards Riko and focused on Kiyoshi and Boss.

"We know someone is threatening you. Do you know his name or maybe what he looks like?", Boss asked from being the counter.

I made sure I was paying attention so I could hear the name of the dude responsible for going after the Kurebayashi siblings. Could it be that Oliver guy that Aoi was telling me about? Just the thought of that bastard doing something to further hurt did more than irritate me. It made my blood boil with a deep seething rage.

See her have a panic attack at the mere mention of his name had me gritting my teeth. It made me want to hunt the bastard down and kill him. Pulling myself out of my murderous though, I focused on the conversation and made sure to listen to Kiyoshi's confession.

"No... not at all. He always calls with an unlisted number or just emails me through a throwaway account. I've only seen him once and that was enough to know how dangerous he is.", Kiyoshi said as his voice trembled in fear.

"Do you remember what he looked like? Any feature that would stand out?", I questioned leaning on the counter as I recalled the night Aoi was sick.

It was hard to see at that time but I remember seeing short brown hair on the man who fled from Aoi's old apartment. I wish I chased after him but I needed to make sure that Aoi was safe. Who knows what that man could have done before I showed up.

"He had copper hair that looks like he bleached his own dark hair and gave up on toner. It looked worse than when Kurebayashi-Senpai attempted it in middle school. She tried to get highlights because all the rebellious kids were doing it.", Kiyoshi admitted with a bashful smile and jealousy pricked my chest.

"Oh yeah? What else?", I droned out in a sour tone but this kid didn't catch on as he excitedly talked about Aoi.

"She accidentally turned to the whole thing a light brown unlike him but it didn't look bad on her. People kept staring at her new look and felt embarrassed. Kurebayashi-Senpai tried to convince Teru to do it as well but Teru refused.", Kiyoshi fondly recalled but his voice turned sour when he thought back to that man.

"You must be quite close to Aoi. Are you in love with her or something?", I teased Kiyoshi and his face turned bright red.

Wait! That was meant to be a joke. I already have to deal with those two leaches attached to her and she seems fond of cute things. Kiyoshi and that Edgy kid fit that image. Small and weak like a trembling rabbit caught by a ravenous wolf. Now that I think about it. Both of them wear glasses and have dark brown hair.
