Ricky x Ej (HSMTMTS)

Chapter 9

Ricky watches as Kourtney and Nini look at the dog tag Ricky had made. "It shouldn't take you guys this long to look at it, it's 4 words, 4 little words," Ricky says trying to not stress him out. 

"It's cute," Nini smiles. 

"It's jewelry," Kourtney says. 

"It's a dog tag," Ricky says with a small smile. 

"He's gonna wear it around his neck," Kourtney says as she hands the dog tag to Ricky. "It's jewelry," She says.

"It's just a silly opening night gift ok, Nini told me about it," Ricky smiles. The two look at him and he groans. "Look he's probably gonna get me something too," Ricky says. Nini and Kourtney look at each with this look and Ricky sighs. "What?" He asks. 

The two look back at Ricky and Kourtney rolls her eyes. "I think it's deep," Kourtney says. "I don't think he's gonna just see it as an opening night gift," She says. 

Ricky's heart starts to pick up when says this. He's gonna think it's weird. 

"Kourtney," Nini whines. "You're stressing him out even more," She says. 

"I'm sorry, he asks for my opinion," Kourtney says with a shrug. Ricky groans and soon puts the dog tag in his pocket. 

"I'm gonna go get him a card ok, I'll see you guys at the show," Ricky says with a smile before he quickly leaves Nini's room and then the house.

Ricky sighs as he opens the gym door. He notices Miss Jenn standing there and he smiles. "Sorry, didn't mean to startle you," Ricky says. 

"Ricky! You're really early!" Miss Jenn says with a smile. 

"I know. I didn't know what to do with myself all afternoon," Ricky chuckles. 

"Let me guess, opening night jitters?" Miss Jenn asks.

"Yeah, it's just a lot, my mom's coming tonight and I've technically never been in a musical before, so," Ricky says feeling the stress all comeback. 

"I understand the stress you're under, all I can tell you is what my director told me, the night somebody sneezed a blueberry muffin onto the stage during a regional production of South Pacific, Use It," Miss Jen says with a big smile. 

"Okay," Ricky says just a little confused. 

"Besides, if you're the only actor with opening night jitters, we are in excellent shape," Miss Jenn chuckles. 

Ricky nods at this but soon his attention is brought back to the door. He sees E.J. opening the door and he smiles a little. "Oh uh, I didn't know anyone would be in here," E.J. smiles. 

Ricky looks over at Miss Jenn before he looks back over at E.J. "Let me guess Jitters?" Ricky asks with a smile. 

"Little but, my parents are coming to this show, they expect a broadway-ready performance out of me," E.J. says as he walks over to the to. 

"And that is what they will get," Miss Jenn smiles at E.J. "Your gonna do great, tell her the muffin story," Miss Jenn says and looks at Ricky. E.J. of course looks confused. 

"Do I have to?" Ricky asks as he looks over at Miss Jenn. 

Miss Jenn sighs and claps her hands. "Listen, I'm gonna run, I'll see you in a couple of hours for pre-game, just take a second, both of you, and soak in the stillness," Miss Jenn smiles before she walks away from the two and out the gym door.
