PLEASE READ:
I don't normally do prologues, as I prefer to jump right into the story, but considering the subject matter, I feel like this is apt. This story is heavier than the other ones I've done as it deals with mental illness. I myself suffer from severe depression, which the main character has, and this is my cathartic way of dealing with it.
If you aren't prepared for difficult topics revolving around suicide and mental illness, PLEASE DO NOT READ THIS. I always want my work to be something positive, but I understand that we all have to protect ourselves, so please, consider this your trigger warning.
With that being said, I think I've created a really heartwarming story about climbing out of the clutches of darkness to find brighter days ahead.
