Cover + Title (-/10)
Is the cover and title eye catching?
Does the title give the story away?

e.g I Fell in Love with my brothers best mate who happens to be my bully.

Does the title and cover complement each other or is the cover completely unrelated to the title or vise versa ? (I sugggest you do this after you've read the book)

Synopis ( -/5)
Do they give too much away in the description

E.g - this is the story of how i fell in love with my brothers best friend who happened to be my bully. P. S we have beautiful babies in the end

Plot (-/20)
Is the plot cliché and expected?
Is it unrealistic? (According to the genre)
Are there any plot twists?
Is the plot well developed and moving at a steady pace?

Character Development (-/20)
Do they show and not tell?

Does the character develop at the right pace.
e.g - in a romance if the main character hates the love interest in chapter 1 and then is suddenly head over heals for them in chapter 2 that's unrealistic and probably wouldn't happen in any situation.

Over the course of the book do the characters change (personalities wise)?

Dialogue (-/10)
Is the dialogue natural sounding and placed correctly?

Originality (-/5)
Is it Cliché?
Hmm, we don't mind a bit of cliché but do they make the cliché they've used their own?
Or is the story completely not like anything you've ever read before?

Grammar (-/10)
Do they:
Use correct punctuation
Use the correct tenses
Structure sentences in the correct way

Writing style + Format (-/20)
Things to look for:
Flow
Descriptive writing
Chapter length
Variety of language used
Paragraph lengths
Presentation (have they made banners for their chapter headings or anything like that?)

Does the poem evoke some sort of emotion for the readers?

Judges when you send me the results could you fill out the score sheet and send it to me please so if people want feedback they can see exactly what they scored on each criteria :) it would nice if you noted things they did well and some things they could improve on but it's not a necessity.
