"Hey, remember what I told you the other day?" EJ asked him, smiling that smile of his and causing a new round of butterflies to flutter in Ricky's stomach.
"Um, vaguely," Ricky responded, trying not to show how flustered he felt.
"Well I meant it, you know? I think we'd be a cute couple."
"Couple?!" Kourtney exclaimed a bit too loudly, causing all the conversations at the table to stop abruptly.
"Ricky? In a relationship? Yeah, right!" Carlos laughed, causing Ricky's blush to deepen even more.
Ricky looked towards EJ who seemed to not notice that Ricky wanted him to just shut up. "Has he not told you guys about us running into each other on multiple occasions? I swear, it's like fate or something." EJ said with a light-hearted tone, causing all of Ricky's friends to laugh, except for him.
Ricky gave one last harsh glance at EJ before standing up, quickly announcing that he didn't feel too good and walking away from the table. He could almost feel EJ staring at him with a quizzical face, but he didn't have it in him to care too much.
