No longer feeling his eyes on her , she looked at him, his face actually looked like he was at peace now, his hairs lengthy by his forehead covering the stress lines that formed, and god knows what went by her but she felt like stopping the car and run his fingers along the hairs and relax his forehead, realizing her thought she stopped the car abruptly, waking him up his daze

"you alright?" He asked

"it's too late" Was her only response, his mind way too intoxicated to realize the meaning behind her words, while she swallowed her newly discovered affection, this was unreal, you can't feel affection for someone who hurt you beyond limits, perhaps it was the revelation of his insecurities, yeah, it was only pity not affection just pity

She drove the car looking at Suraj who now had his eyes closed again, it seemed like he felt asleep but at the same time he moved his head from left to right at every passing minutes, irritating her to no bounds, it felt like he was struggling from something, she just wished they reach home quickly when she heard him mumbling , "Damn...my...gajar ka halwa...no..." It was dis formed sentences but the one thing that came out bold from it was Gajar ka halwa, that time she had a hard time keeping her eyes and mind on the road, her mind automatically relating things faster than light does, food-sleep-avya-Suraj... Seriously??'' was this a forever thing like what happens with Avya or just a onetime thing with Suraj , only when he was drunk perhaps? She shook her head not wanting the acknowledge the new similarity she discovered between Avya and her father...not her father, she reprimanded herself, Suraj had royally lost all his rights of ever being Avya's dad, she strongly reminded herself

She stopped the car in front of the house "Suraj?? We're home" She was loud to make sure he heard her, but he behaved deaf, no option left after repeating his tone and words, she shook his shoulder roughly, he woke up his eyes falling on her, forgetting momentarily what he was doing with her, perhaps he was dreaming? Much to chakor's confusion and displease , his dreamy expression returned, his hands raised to cup her cheeks , she looked in his eyes, the light of the car reflecting in them, she could feel it had a certain affection in them , but for whom? For her sister, as her inner conscious replied, she pulled his hand away, it banging against the dashboard , must've hurt but she didn't care, "We're home" She repeating, reminding him where they were and why

He simply nodded, opened the door and swayed to the door, falling as he reached close making her wince, but killing all the desires of helping him, he stood and continued his swaying way

She was guilty when she reached her room, should she check on him? No...her guilt vanished when she saw her daughter on the wide bed, with pillows on both her sides, her teddy bear wrapped tightly in her arms, the teddy had a heart on which Chakor was embroidered, it was her way to convince Avya to let her have night shift, and tell her that the teddy was Chakor, her heart clenched at the reminiscing of those days, leaving her daughter , to earn for a better future, she laid on the bed having now changed , left a kiss on Avya's forehead, she stirred but din't wake up instead as if feeling her mother's presence she simply smiled and curled deeper in her mother's warmth

This was her life now and she was happy, prince charming was a closed chapter for her. But then as she closed her eyes that night she felt like being haunted by Suraj's vulnerable eyes and words.

The next morning he groaned as he felt a weight being shifted next to him, he opened his eyes slowly and found Imli hovering over him, smiling at him sickly , he closed his eyes opening it again, wishing she'd be gone as he repeated the act but she didn't, she simply placed her lips over his, he felt an unknown feeling at that moment , a feeling he had had never experienced for Imli, a feeling of disgust, her tongue against his lips felt soo wrong, he pushed her away breaking the one sided kiss, unknowingly rubbing the back of his hand on his lips
