I stroked Haydin's hair, as she slept on my chest. A knock sounded on the door. I gently moved Haydin so she was laying on the pillow before throwing my pants on. I opened the door, and there stood my father. "Come with me." I looked back at Haydin, and closed the door. "We've got a problem," he walked ahead of me, and down to Dr. Tanner's office. Mom laid still on the bed. "They've planted your mother." He pulled up an X-ray and you can see in her neck a tiny chip. "It's a microchip. So they knew you would be there because of her. She doesn't know they had her chipped, but it may take a little bit to get out of her. I have to do a lot of digging to get it and destroy it,"

Dad had his arms folded over his chest. "But we are gonna have to pack up the safe house, and move. We can't have any chances of them finding us. We need to move first thing in the morning. Tanner, you need to have that thing out of her tonight. Do whatever it takes." Mom stirred. "What the fuck happened? Did we get her?" Dad looked up at me. "No.. they knew we were there mi amore." She sat up abruptly and grabbed her neck. "Ow, what the hell is that!"

"Better to rip the band aid off," I looked down at mom. "You were chipped." Her eyes widened. She covered her mouth. "This whole time they could have found us because of.. me.." Dad kneeled down next to her. "We're going to get it out of you, but we need to leave this house. It won't be long before they start coming."

Tanner looked at me. "We've gotta put her in a lot of pain to get it out," he looked up at dad. "It's like a chip you put in an animal. Once I get it out, I can destroy it, and we'll be okay. For now." Mom looked at me. "I-I don't want to---- I don't want to be put in pain! I think I've been through enough pain!" I saw a needle sitting on the table next to Dr. Tanner. "Mom, this is the only way. It's either that or they come and kill us all, and rescuing you would have all been for nothing." Tanner caught me eyeing the needle. She needs to be put under so we can get that shit out of her, but as stubborn as she is, she won't go down without a fight. I walked towards my dad. Forgive me mom. I picked up the needle, and jabbed it in her arm.

"What the fuck did you just do!" Dad grabbed me up by my shirt. I snatched away from him.

"IT HAD TO BE DONE!" i ran my fingers through my hair. "It had to be done not only for our sake, but for mom's sake. They would have killed her the first chance they got as soon as they got here!" I didn't want to do it, but I am not losing my mother again. "Tanner, get that damn thing out of her. I will go and prepare everyone for the move." I walked out of the room, and up the stairs. I ran my hands through my hair angrily, and punched a wall. That's gonna leave a mark. Great. "D, what's going on?" Kaiden came walking around the corner. "Gather everyone up. Once mom is awake again, we're leaving."

"What do you mean when she wakes up again? What the hell happened?" I sighed. "She was chipped. They knew we were coming because of her. We can't take a chance on them finding us. Get everything together." I walked past him, and up to my room. Haydin still laid peacefully. She looked like an angel when she sleeps. I kneeled down and stroked her cheek. She stirred and opened her eyes. "Dmitry, what're you doing up?" I shook my head. "It's my mom," she sat up abruptly."Is she okay?" I nodded my head. "She will be. I had to sedate her. They chipped her. They knew we would coming after them." She shook her head. "What's going to happen now?" I ook her hand in mine, and kissed the back of it. "You're going to get dressed, and pack your things. As soon as she wakes up, we're leaving." She stood up, letting the covers fall down her bare body. Under  different circumstances, I would have taken her over and over again. She quickly got dressed, and started rapidly packing. I walked up behind her and tried to steady her nervous shaking. "Hey," I placed my hands on hr shoulders." "Everything's going to be okay. Okay?" She nodded shakily. I kissed the back of her head. "I will never let anything happen to you." She faced me. "I don't want you risking your life for me." I cupped her cheeks. "When will you learn that you are my life now? I've spent time trying to run from it. I'm done running. You are my life Haydin. I will stop at nothing when it comes to protecting you."

No words were spoken but she knew what I wanted to say.

I loved her.
