''The beginning''

' 'MY KING' ' The loud booming voice of a guard startled everyone in the kings room, ' 'The dragons have attacked one of our towns my sire..' ' and with those first two words the king was already up, he stared at me and I stood up, hissing to myself as he put on a robe. I look up to the guard and king, who were already heading for the door as I sigh, heading to the window and jumping out, landing in the roses. All I was to them was a pet, and I wanted adventure, a life, and I was going to get it. I grabbed a small bag I had made the night before which held my needed items as I throw the bag on my back, smirking. I had been waiting for the dragons to attack in order to leave. I stare up in surprise and awe as a crimson dragon flew above my home and to the Dragon Peaks, with a soft smile I drag my feet on the mossy cobble roads to the river, the only way I could leave the palace. I was an art piece to the king, a part of a collection he demanded to be stolen, and unfortunately I was the favorite for my.. ' 'Gift' ' that had only gotten me in trouble. I ruffle my black hair, jumping into the river and using magic to protect my bag, glaring at the guards that resided near the open hole for the water, quietly sliding through and poking my head out on the other side, smiling brightly and slipping out the water. I was gonna be free after I reached the border of the city, the king wouldn't be able to find me easily. Suddenly I heard screaming, guards chasing me as I ran, kicking dirt up occasionally and looking back repeatedly. My eyes widened and began to fill with tears as they got closer, causing me to trip and start backing away as one raised his sword. I cover my head and hear a sudden clang then screams, something falling beside me and a grunt that did not sound like any human in the kingdom, slowly opening my eyes to see a large orc standing above the guards and turning around to look at me, crouching down and tilting his head. After sniffing me, he seemed to almost recognize me. 

' 'Tiny one okay?' ' He put his hammer over his shoulder, staring at me.

' 'I'm fine- HEY WAIT I AM NOT TINY' ' I cross my arms, glaring up at him.

' 'You are tiny. Tiny one need help running away?' '

' 'Help would be nice..' ' and with that response he picked me up, starting to run to the woods. After a while he finally placed me down, smiling and patting my head and sitting down, ' 'Tiny panther, am Goragk, name?' ' I blink a few times, trying to figure out how he came up with the name considering my ability to change into my spirit animal was never mentioned, ' 'I- uh.. Void..' ' He nodded and laid down, falling asleep instantly. I sighed and pulled out some matches and a few sticks from the ground, starting a tiny fire and curling up beside it, my eyes closing and slowly I faded into sleep. 

I jolt awake, hearing the sound of a dying bird and looking around, Goragk smiling proudly, ' 'Morning meal.' '

' 'Goragk, that's a bird, not breakfast.' ' I sigh softly, looking down and standing up, ' 'But it can do.' ' He seemed to be happy I agreed to cook the bird, setting another fire and placing a stick through the now clean bird body and holding it above the fire. Once It was properly cooked he dug in as I walked towards the edge of the giant rock we rested upon, sitting on the edge and staring off and humming to myself. After a while he joined me, patting my head, ' 'Young panther, you're staring at nothing?' ' 

' 'Yes Goragk, I am staring at nothing-' '

' 'Call me Gor.' ' He smiled gently.

' 'Well, Gor, I'm trying to figure out how you knew I was a panther.' '

' 'Tiny panther smells of panther blood.' '

' 'I forgot you Orcs had such good smell..' ' I scoffed as he sniffed the air, and suddenly a booming crash, Goragk rushing over and covering me as I yelp, covering my head, the metal bracelets on my wrists hitting my head as the wind, as quickly as it sped up, slowed back down. We ran to the source, finding a huge golden dragon with her young-ling, she collapsed as the baby yelped, nuzzling her and curling up into the body. I rushed over, grabbing nearby herbs and trying to create one of the healing spells I knew. I could only use it on one of the two and knowing it wouldn't be strong enough for it's mother, I healed the young-lings wounds, hugging it close as a glowing light surrounded it like a tight blanket. ' 'Young panther, why save dragon?' '

' 'Does it matter Gor? right now the young one needs sleep..' ' I stand up, taking the dragon to our small camp, humming the song to the baby. It opened its eyes after around an hour, looking up and backing away, hissing and seeming to have lightning in its mouth, ' 'Panther why it have lightning-' ' 

' 'Females have lightning, males have lava, meaning this dragon is a young female..' ' Goragk looked at me, blinking and sitting down, the dragon shaking her head and jumping on him, playing with his necklace of teeth from various monsters, Goragk chuckling and smiling, ' 'Panther, she's tiny!' '

I nod gently as he continued to pat her head, picking her up as she crawled onto his head, ' 'Onik, we name her Onik!' ' He smiled as I nod, not willing to fight with him about naming the dragon. I look off to the sun, inhaling and singing Beauty of Dawn, sitting down and watching as the sun slowly was being pulled, the chains on the sun rattling softly. The guardian of the sun and moon were the sun and moon around slowly to ensure our world stays stable, the orcs, dragons and humans were fighting and we were here, resting. Letting a soft sigh escape my lips I came to realize, I begged for adventure and I guess I was heard by whatever god was out there. I shouldn't have asked for this.
