The white foam of the river struck the castle with fury. The skies glowed with white thunder, a stark contrast to the dark sky. The downpour of rain continued harshly. It seemed like a never ending storm had reached the peaceful land and would destory everything in its path. Trees that stood proud and mighty started to fall as the mighty winds shook their strong foundation. The rice crops began to overflow and the farmers sat inside their tiny cottages wondering how they would be feeding their families come winter as the damage would not be recoverable.

Inside the mighty castle that the royal family lived in, there was an air of thick silence. Everyone in their own quarters trembled and prayed for their Lords mercy. The candles burned with fury but did little to calm the darkness inside the hearts and minds. It showed how the mighty king could be brought to his knees within seconds if Allah willed to.

Aahil sat inside his huge room. The emptiness of it made his skin crawl with fear. The shadows casted on the wall did nothing to calm his erratic heart. His wife had been taken to seperate room as his mother thought the thunderstorm was a sign that this union was doomed. His hands shivered as he raised them to pray. His mind and tonge would form no word no matter how much he willed it. Tears fell freely as he tried to stop the pessimistic thoughts from filling his mind. He was worried about everyone and knew the damage would be irreversible.

The windows of his room unable to withstand the harshness of the wind coupled with the strength of the rain, finally gave way and shattered. Shards of glass flew all over the room as his gaurds entered to see if their king was harmed or not. Aahil was dragged by his men out of his chambers. The king had no idea of what was happening and allowed himself to be taken out.

Safa sat in the small room with eyes wide open. She was in the underground prison so the rain did little damage to her. The tiny wooden bed had pieces of wood out in all and every direction that continuously peirced her skin. The once soft and smooth skin was filled with scratches. Her heart prayed without fail for the people even those that had never showed her any sympathy. The growing cold in the prison made her realise how much she needed a blanket.

Her mind did little to help her. With constantly creating images of her parents hugging and loving her, the misery only increased. There was a constant darkness around her that made it impossible to see anything. She laughed at her fate. Only 2 days had she enjoyed as a new bride that ended with something she had no control of. The storm had continued for a week and that whole week she jad spent in the tiny box sized room.

They would leave her a meal of watery porridge every day. She would devour it nonetheless considering that was the only time she was feed. A bucket was left in her room with a little bucket of water to use as her washroom. The silence in the place only raised the fear of the dark she had. Safa had made up her mind. As soon as she would be let out, that is if she makes it out alive she would ask for a divorce. The role of a Queen was deserved by someone of high and noble birth. All she wanted was a dancing academy for girls. And a tiny house with a husband that would love, trust and above all fight the world for her.

As Safa trued to ease her heart she heard a few footsteps. She imagined someone finally had mercy and would let her out. As the footsteps moved closer she could make an outline of a tall and bulky man. In his hands were keys that clinged as he opened the door.

"Its time to head out. I've been asked to blind fold and lead you out."
Before Safa could give an answer he yanked her by the hair and tied a coarse cloth on her eyes tightly. It made her skin itch. The mans touch was so repulsive that it made her skin crawl.

As she was lead out she felt the rain hit her hard. She was suddenly pushed to the floor and a knife peirced through her guts. Before the man walked away he whispered in her ears
"Good riddance"

Aahil walked around the streets of Lahore. The wet and muddy roads were a  huge nuisance to him. As he walked at the pace of a snail he observed the damage and gudied his officers what was to be done and how the mess was to be cleaned.

He entered the house of his mother's brother. He sat down to talk to him as he knew no one was more pious than his uncle in the entire city. Aahil addressed the issue that he was facing in his marital life. His uncle adivsed him to listen to his mother and do as she said so that peace could be maintained in the kingdom.

Aahil took leave from his uncle and entered the room to meet his aunt. She was not in there. Only his cousin Hawa was. Her dark skin glimered in the sunlight. Her black curly hair was tied in a bun. He saw a faint glimmer in her eyes that did not sit right with her.

"Aahil you did not do right. You married that prostitute. You will regret it. Wait and watch"
Before Aahil could react she locked the room and tore her sleeves. Applying a bit of red rouge on her lips to make them look as if they had just been kissed she started to shout.

His uncle broke down the door and saw his daughter in a state of disarray. Aahil whose hair was scattered due to constant pullong of frustration made him think otherwise. He forcefully took the two out of the room and read their Nikkah himself.

Aahil brought his new wife into the palace. His mother was happy with the new daughter in law and forced him to raise her to the rank of the Queen.

Safa was rushed into the room of the doctor. The old man felt pity on her. She had been brought to the rank of wife. The doctor a man of fifty felt as if Safa would have been a better Queen. But his opinions did not matter. For now he had been ordered by the former queen to nurture her to health and then throw her into the dungeons again.
