PoV: Sonic

"Sonic!" Ray called me as I was getting my mail from my mail box.

"Oh hey Ray, what's up?" I watch him land in front of me.

"Nothing much. Hey, Mighty is making spaghetti tonight, you want to join us for dinner?" He asked.

"Sure! Sounds great!" I did enjoy a nice bowl of pasta after all. It could be fun.

"Great! I'll tell Mighty you said yes," he took off flying again and I brought my mail inside.

"Sonic, Knuckles want to take you the italian place tonight," Tails said and i came in.

"Tonight? I can't," I put the letters down, "Ray invited me over to their place tonight."

"He did? When?"

"Just now," I opened up my check from the bank, "Check it out, our rings from this week were converted into cash again. Million dollars, what should be do?"

"Sonic, Knuckles reserved a table already," Tails took the check.

"He did?" I felt kind bad, I heard that new place was expensive, "Can't he go with someone else? That place is more for people who are dating. We're just friends."

"You know they serve pasta there too. I know you said yes to Mighty first, but Knuckles does cost more money."

"Okay, okay," I sighed, "I'll call Ray and cancel with them. You're realky starting to get too good at guilt tripping people."

"Its a talent," Tails walked away with the check, "I'm going to cash this into our accounts. 400,000 for you, 400,000 thousand for me, and 200,000 goes into the saving like we agreed."

"Sounds good," I picked up the house phone and told Ray I couldn't go. He said they would save it for tomorrow night, I was glad he didn't seem mad.

  Knuckles called me that afternoon, he told me to meet him there at seven.

"It should be around here," I started looking around, I was excited to see how the food was.

"OHOHOH!" I knew that laugh all too well, "I finally have you alone hedgehog!"

"Eggman! Can we do this late, there's some food waiting to be eaten and I'd like to be the one to eat it," I knew this wasn't going to wait, sorry Knuckles. I might be a little late.

"Oh sure~ go on and have you nice meal. JUST KIDDING! I'M GOING TO DESTROY YOU RODENT!" He laughed as his robots began to surround me.

"Let's get this over with, K?"
   
    
PoV: Knuckles

I didn't know what was taking him so long. Sonic was never late.

"Sonic, come on. Where are you?" I was sitting alone at a table for two. The waiters kept asking me if I wanted the menu.

"Sir, would you like a menu now?" One asked again.

"No, I'm waiting for someon-"

CRASH!!!!

  The window was shattered and dust was all over the place. Luckily it was at a table no one was around. The dust faded and I heard someone coughing.

"Nice try Eggbreath!" Sonic had crashed in through the wall!

"Sonic... are you hurt?" I ran up to him.

"Oh hey Knux, sorry to keep you waiting," he laughed it off, "I'll be right back, just have to finish this battle."

"Wait!" He took off again before I could offer to help. I went after him and found my glove was wet. There were broken wine bottles everywhere, I couldn't tell if this was wine... or his blood...

"I'm going to destroy you!" Eggman fired another load of robots. I destroyed most of them with a ground pound. I wasn't going to let Sonic fight if he was hurt.

"Nice job Knux!" Sonic smiled as he destroyed the last robot.

"NEXT TIME YOU WON'T GET AWAY!" Eggman began to retreat.

"So, you wanna eat?" Sonic smiled, something didn't look right... Tails said he always hides when he's hurt. He disappeared for a week once when Eggman injured him last.

"We should get you home," I grabbed his arm.

"I can walk on my own. Besides we live in the opposite direction," he was trying to pull away. He wouldn't be able to. Sonic was powerful, but he wouldn't be able to get free without hurting me.

"Fine, we can go to my place," I started pulling him to my house. He was either covered in wine and blood, I could smell both on him.

"Knuckles what are you doing? I know I destroyed the restaurant by accident, I can pay you back for the reservations-"

"You hurt," I grabbed him, "Don't pretend like I can't notice it."

"Oh come on, Eggman can't hurt me," he gave me that fake smile again. He couldn't tell me the truth, "You know that."

"You reak of blood," I snapped, he got quiet. I too the chance, picked him up and carried him back to my house.

"Put me down! I said I'm fine!" He complained the entire way, "What do you think your doing?"

"Keeping you still," I used a zip tie to tie his wrist to the fridge. I didn't trust him not to run away.

  I got the first aid kit and when I came back Sonic was gone. One of his quills was on the ground. He had cut through the zip tie with it.

"Damn it..." knowing him, he was too far to follow, "That idiot is going to get himself killed..."
  
  
PoV: Sonic

"Tsk..." it hurt, I couldn't lie about that. It didn't look like anything too serious... just a bleeding scratch on my arm, "I can't go home yet... not until it heals..."

  I started to rest against a tree. The moon only got higher in the sky, I was starting to fall asleep.

  I'll stay out here tonight... I held a couple leaves against my injury, just till the bleeding stops...
