I DONE
CHAPTER 1
I woke up to the fresh smell of the hall, I heard my sister Millie call from downstairs, “Henry come on, father wants to meet in the chapel.” Her last word faded as she slammed the wooden door . I heard the door open and it must have been my father, he called from the bottom of the stairs, “Come on your mother is waiting for you!"
“I thought you wanted to meet in the chapel, not mother, I’m coming, I’m just making my bed.” I shouted whilst leaping out of my modest bed, quickly I started to tidy the rough linen sheet and woollen blankets. After I had finished making my bed I slipped on my doublet . I ran out of Longry Hall and made my way to the chapel as my mother wanted to speak to us . “I have gathered us here today to announce that if we keep on praying in this chapel we will be committing treason against king Henry VIII!”announced my mother to the whole of Longry in disappointment the village made one last prayer before one of the king’s servants would come and shut it down “ What that’s not fair!” my brother Matthew shouted as one of the kings servants was locking longrys only chapel . As I was standing right next to the doors of the chapel I was pushed out the way.
The next day, I heard the wooden door creek open I didn’t understand it everyone was in the house. “who could it be?” I wondered to myself. It couldn’t be one of he villagers they never come round in the mornings.
No one ever visits us. I creeped down the stairs and peered at the door it was wide open but no one was there until I went down the stairs more I could make out a vague image of a person it was a woman. A tall woman. She had short hair with a long gown on. I went back upstairs so she didn’t see me I went to alert my mother Alexandra and father Robert . We all went down the stairs and creeped into the corridor my mother was the first one to notice who it was Anne of cleaves . She had noticed us by now my mother asked her “what are you doing here? “in confusion
“I.....I.....,”Stammered Anne of cleaves then she ran out the door and slammed it behind her. After that we saw nothing of her so we carried on doing our daily life and we forgot about King Henry VIII banning all of the chapels. One day my mother and millie went over to the chapel and that day one of the kings courtiers came to visit as they were on their way to the court . They had a look round and noticed the chapel wasn’t locked and the large doors were open. He went inside and he had noticed the two ladies praying . That day it was just me Matthew and father in the hall as the courtier took mother and millie with him to the king
