It had been three months since Pepper and Tony had brought in Elsa and Anna and everything was amazing. The adoption papers went through only a few days prior and they'd had a party to celebrate.
Elsa and Anna were being integrated into the modern world very smoothly, very curious about all the new technology and willing to learn everything. In that time, Tony, Pepper, and Peter had learned more about them.
Anna was, as she had been since the they met her, bright and bubbly. She loved mischief and was very curious about how everything worked. She had even started helping Peter and Tony in the lab, asking a million and one questions as they fixed a car.
Neither minded, they enjoyed Anna's company and answered every question with gusto.
Elsa, however, was much more subdued than her sister. She was learning to trust them more and more everyday and had less magical outbursts. In that few months, she had reawakened a love for singing.
Peter loved his little sisters and hung out with them after school. Sometimes he brought two of his friends over, MJ and Ned, who also got along with the girls even if Elsa was still wary of new people.
Everything was going great.
_
Anna tossed and turned in her bed, unable to get comfortable. She growled to herself in frustration and pulled the blankets over her head. She was wide awake and bored.
The red head pulled the blankets down from her head and looked to the left for the digital clock. Contrary to her sister, Anna liked the digital clock. It had little purple cat ears.
11:03 am
She huffed. The sky wasn't even awake! Why was she awake?
Anna buried herself in the blankets again, closing her eyes and willing herself to go to sleep and dream, but no unicorns or aliens (Peter taught her about them) came to mind.
She looked at the clock again. 11:04.
Ugh.......
Finally, she decided to go see if Peter was awake. He told her a bit ago that once he stayed up all night and that had amazed her. Maybe he was doing it again?
She grabbed the white bear from beside her nightstand. She had got it the day the adoption papers went through. A gift from Mommy and Daddy.
She crept out into the hall quietly, still clutching the bear, wincing as the door creaked. She looked to her adoptive parents' door and stayed still for a few moments, listening. Nothing.
The coast was clear and she made her way down the hall to Peter's room. The door was open and she peeked around the corner. It was dark and for a moment she thought he was still asleep, then the blankets moved and she could see the white light of a flashlight coming from beneath them.
She took a few careful steps inside before whispering out, "Petey pie, it's Anna."
The light turned off and Peter sat up. She could barely see his outline in the darkness until he turned on the flash light again, aiming it upward. His hair was in disarray and he looked a little bewildered.
"Close the door," he whispered. She did so and then climbed up onto his bed with him.
"What are you doing?" She asked quietly.
He turned the flashlight to the book in his lap. "I'm reading. It's really good so far. I'm on page eight."
"Can you read some to me?" She asked.
"Sure," he said, laughing at her enthusiasm.
Anna snuggled up next to her older brother. He pulled the blanket up and over her shoulders before beginning to read quietly.
