17: Putting on the Clothes

Beth POV

I wrapped my hair in a towel as I had gotten out of my shower with Grizz.

I dried off and pulled on some clothes.

I brushed through my hair, brushed my teeth then went downstairs.

I saw everyone in the kitchen, I saw Grizz had a mug of most likely tea.

"Good morning, everyone." I say with a smile. I go into the fridge and find some chocolate milk.

I pour a big mug of chocolate milk and sit at a bar stool near Becca.

I zoned out but tapped back in when I heard something about a gun.

"He said what?" Will said making me pay attention.

"He said we have to look for a gun at Dewey's house." Gordie said and I furrowed my brow.

Greg Dewey? No way.

"Dewey, like Greg? De- Hey, are you seriously making a protein shake right now?" Grizz says making me almost smile, but I hide it with my mug.

"No." Luke responds. Grizz gives him a look making me drink my chocolate milk to contain my laughter.

"Why didn't Harry just come and tell us himself?" Allie questioned.

"Uh, Harry's a fucking pussy." Will said as though it was obvious.

"Why Cassandra? Greg didn't even know her.
I mean, why would he care?" Allie said.

"Maybe Harry put him up to it, maybe he made him confess so he could take the heat off of himself." Grizz suggest.

"Like some deep mind control." Luke adds in.

"Right, exactly." Grizz says.

"Do you believe Harry?" Allie ask.

"Look. It's gonna sound weird, but I do.
When he came up to me, he seemed, like, upset." Gordie said sympathetically.

"It doesn't matter. We have to arrest Dewey." Will says.

"Arrest him? What do you mean, arrest him? Like, go just go nab him off the street?" Allie says in disbelief.

"Yes. If he confessed-" Will tried to explain.

"What if Harry's lying?" Becca adds in.

"We can't take any chances. Dewey could hurt somebody. We have to arrest him and search his house for the gun." Will said.

"Could you handle something like that?" Allie ask Luke.

"I mean, yeah, if we got up, like, ass-early in the morning." Luke says.

"Pre-dawn raid." Grizz adds on.

"Yeah, like a pre-dawn raid, you know, like, take him by surprise." Luke says.
