Can and Sanem's Language of Love

The extraordinary chemistry between legendary lovers Can and Sanem says a great deal for the love and passion they have for one another. Even the slightest touch, briefest eye contact or faintest scent is enough to sustain the intensity of this amazing chemistry. They thought they could move on after they separated but when fate brought them back, they could not deny how incredibly attracted they still were to each other, enough to cloud their reasoning on why they parted. When they are around each other, they are so in tune with each other...more so than anyone else in their entire universe, in body and in soul. It is a beautiful unspoken language they use to speak to one another that is undeniable and cannot be explained in words. It is their language of love. And in this language, all their senses are peaked but it is their sense of smell that plays an important role in maintaining this extraordinary connection.

Smell is extremely important when it comes to attraction between two people. Research has shown that the scent from our bodies can help us subconsciously choose our partners. Kissing is thought by some scientists to have developed from sniffing...that first kiss being essentially a primal behaviour during which we smell and taste our partner to decide if they are a suitable match. In Can and Sanem's case, because they kissed in darkness perhaps their sense of smell was heightened making them become much more aware of their connection...a connection of their souls that would become instinctive on another level.... Their scent was the secret signal they picked up on subconsciously. It would therefore act as the magnetic energy that pulled them, and keeps pulling them together.  And when they are in close encounters, it causes them to fall into such a hypnotic state that makes them forget logical thinking, lose their good senses and surrender themselves to one another.

Even further, as Sanem explained in her perfume presentation, the sense of smell is closely linked with memory, probably more than any of our other senses and acts as a trigger in recalling a long-forgotten event or experience. For this reason, it is likely that Sanem could no longer wear her perfume or cream after they broke up because it was now a painful reminder of Can. So instead of taking pleasure in wearing it, she bottled it up in jars to give away perhaps in an attempt to get rid of her pain.

To Can, Sanem's scent had always been reminiscent of the wildflowers he encountered on his nature trips to the mountains and forests. Being in nature, alleviated his anger, fear, and stress and made him feel better emotionally. When Sanem was in his life, she was all of that and more. So not having her in his life for the past year must have been unbearable for him because the nature that he had run to again to find solace didn't do a thing to help him feel better.

But now, after learning from their argument that Sanem had not in fact given up on him when he assaulted Yigit that terrible day...that she actually still wanted him after everything that had happened...and even called him ten minutes after their fight to make up with him, he let go of all his inhibitions, and the tremendous guilt that was weighing him down and keeping him from forgiving himself and moving forward. He now felt he had been given another chance to set things right.

So when Can smelled Sanem's signature scent in her cream and then in her perfume during her fragrance demonstration, something took over him that went beyond his conscious control. Suddenly it was as if all of his senses were awakened and he was seeing Sanem in a whole new light and for the very first time.  Smelling her scent now simply transported him back to his Sanem, and oh, how he missed her! It brought back recollections of their first encounter in the dark...smelling her...holding her...kissing her. You could tell by his admiring gaze that it must have sent shockwaves through his body because he couldn't resist its power... it had taken complete control over him like a magic spell and further intensified his longing and desire for her. Can is falling deeply in love with Sanem, all over again.  Finally, the Can we all know and love is back and there's no stopping him from getting the one thing in the world that he wants...his one and only Love, Sanem.
