"Haiyley! When are they coming?!"

My best friend, Lavender, asked.

More like whined in my opinion.

"I don't know, Lav. Vinny told me he was 15 minutes away," She put her hands on her hips and raised a brow.

"How long ago was that?"

I looked down, "15 minutes ago."

"Ooh! FINALLY! There they are, how do I look?"

She asked while pushing her boobs, butt, and lips out and messing up her hair.

"Constipated?"

"Leeeeee!"

"I'm joking! you look perfect."

I laughed at her tendency to get butt hurt over the littlest things said by me, her best friend.

"Thanks, Lee! You're the best!"

She said right before running off to the guys.

I was about to turn around and head over as well when warm arms snaked around my waist.

"Hey my love, sorry I'm late."

Excitement bubbled inside of me as I knew who it was behind me.

"Vinny!"

I spun around and jumped on him, giving him my best bear hug.

"Someone missed me," he chuckled.

"I got a new bathing suit! Look at how cool it is!"

He set me down on the sand and looked me up and down.

"You look amazing my love, per usual, but it looks like a basic bathing suit?"

I couldn't hold in the little laugh that escaped my lips at his confusion.

"It looks like a basic bathing suit, but it's not."

He raised one of his perfect brows.

"It's coated in aerogel so when I go swimming, I don't get wet!"

He had a mischievous smirk on his face which I knew all too well by now.

"It keeps you from getting wet?"

He asked trying to hold in his laugh.

"EWWWW! Vinny!"

I was laying on my beach chair reading a book, waiting for Vinny to come back with my ice cream when Lavender came up to me crying.

"What happened?!"

She shook her head and hugged me, sobbing into my shoulder.

"J-Jason."

"What did Jason do?"

"You know h-how, last week, we went up to one of Vincent's lake houses?"

"Yes,"

"Well, I thought him and I were hitting it off, so when he asked me if I wanted to have sex with him, I said yes. Then after that night, we left the lake house and came back home. After that night, he left me on read, and eventually stopped reading my texts and blocked me. I went to go ask him what happened and h-he-"

"He what?"

"He told me I was just a fling, that I didn't matter to him and never would."

"I'll go talk to him-"

"NO!" She yelled so loud, bystanders began to stare.

"You can't talk to him!"

"Why not?"

"Because! That's embarrassing."

"On his part, it's going to be."

"Please! Just, for me, don't say a thing?"

"But-"

She gave me a stern look,

"Fine!"

"Thank god! Plus, I know how to prove to him I don't care!"

"How?"

"You'll see," and with that, she skipped away.

I sat there thinking, Jason has never been the type to try and purposely hurt someone's feelings.

To be quite honest, Jason doesn't even sleep around, he respects women.

So when and why did that change?

"Hey! Here is your chocolate chip ice cream with my love for you as the topping."

I smiled slightly, I wanted to laugh at his corniness, but what I had just heard was preventing me from doing so.

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing, why do you ask?"

"I know you. What's wrong?"
