The Burdens of a Knight

Oh great knight, how fare thee?
The duty you carry, so hard to be free
Shall I follow thee? Honor bound sir?
For your duty is not a burden to be done alone

You took your vows, and swore on them
In dark and dusk, lest you shall fall
To protect the weak, help the needy, protect their hems
In time, they shall understand, or not at all

So sleep dear knight, your duty is done
To protect us, now go on
To pleasure thyself, in death alone,
Or the jaws of life  swallow you whole.
