☆彡ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ ①
{𝐄𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐁𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝✧}It was just past 6 in the morning in Waverly, Massachusetts or so everyone thought. Aurelia's life was finally stable since her parent's not-so-subtle divorce.
She brushed her teeth, mindlessly, observing her reflection. A couple of her Chestnut brown hairs were strewn out of place before she patted them into place. She strolled over to her phone which was playing Kiwi by Harry Styles. She sings along with content, skimming over her freckles with concealer. She then moved on to mascara, a touch of an earthy brown eyeshadow, and a Cherry-Pink lip gloss.
She put on a red sweater top, jeans and her favorite sneakers. Just as she was about to grab her backpack, Her mother's voice rings through Aurelia's ears "Aurelia, honey, You can make leftover pizza for dinner, or you can make macaroni and cheese"
"Thanks, mom" Aurelia says quickly, grabbing her phone and descending down the stairs. She faces her mother smiling "have a good day at work, and don't overwork yourself"
"I'm sure I'll be fine" she embraces her daughter before heading out the door
The brunette girl stands alone, fidgets with her denim jacket, then parts her hair with her hand. She swiftly grabs her house keys from their usual spot (a hook on the kitchen wall).
She waits for her friend's car to pull up, when it does there's an awkward silence as Reid, the driver was her ex, they had been distant and avoiding each other.
"Hey, Aurelia, how's life without a car?" Her best friend Olivia asked teasingly to lighten the mood. (Coincidentally Olivia was Reid's sister)
"Hey, I have a car! It's just in the shop!" She defends, she really liked her car. Who wouldn't? It was old-fashioned, but the ride was as smooth as peanut butter.
They stopped at yet another house, to pick up their other friend, Quinn " Topaz" She preferred it that way. It reminded Aurelia of the mineral.
Nobody had a chance to greet her before she spoke "Are you guys still riding the wave of existential dread?"
"Could you be any more negative?" Liv scoffs Topaz tugs her Denim jacket tighter against her brown skin and shrugs
"Liv, relax" Reid says shortly avoiding Aurelia's gaze as usual
"I think existential dread is a little dramatic, Topaz"
"Maybe, but, what fun is life without a little drama?" Reid raises his eyebrow but stays silent
"We should all hang after school Today" Olivia chimes
"Can't. I have an after-school shift at Tony's." Topaz says
"And I have to host Soccer tryouts today," Reid says, gripping the wheel
"That's ok, We can hang on your break Topaz, More time for us girls, then brother" She bumps his shoulder

Reid pulls into the parking lot, clearly distracted by his own thoughts.
"Reid watch out!" Aurelia screams, but it's a little late. The brown-eyed boy becomes aware of the figure in front of his car and slams on the break. He scrambles out of the car.
"I'm so so sorry" he apologizes
"Are you ok?"Aurelia asks out of concern for the stranger, without thinking twice.
"I'm... fine" He reassures, hesitantly, his British accent prominent. She noted this of course, and his head of dark curls. His deep, ocean blue eyes couldn't seem to leave the brunette's hazel ones. He frantically walked off.
