What Remains of Devastation

Summer in the hills,
Those hazy days I do remember,
Walking through the ruins
Still makes me have the chills.

Standing at the center,
Rage welling up up within me,
Desolate all around,
Cannot let out the anger.

Growing again are plants,
Covering the scars with green,
A relief to the emptiness,
Sufficient are they gallant.
