As it got darker outside June worried less about the fight today and instead grew anticipation for Lin's assignment. Although she wasn't skilled enough to exact revenge on the one man she's dead-set on killing, she had a good lead on someone lower on the totem pole. Jeremy Mullins was her target. From what she had gathered he wasn't deep into the web of her 'father's' business, meaning he was ignorant of whomever was the boss of whoever he was working for.

Based on his profile June assumed he had gotten into it to start paying off debts, but now he's made double what he owed with no sign of stopping. She slipped on a deep emerald bodycon dress with a plunging neckline. She tried her best with her makeup but she knew it was never her strong suit. She slipped a thin pocket knife into a band on her upper thigh for extra protection. Lastly, she slipped on black stiletto's, knowing they'd only slow her down; she had a role to play.

As she walks out of her dorm room she caught Marcus' attention as he headed the same direction, no doubt going to complete his assignment. He was not expecting the transformation of the morose, his eyes trailing her up and down.

"Stop staring you're making it more embarrassing," She told him as she tried to wave away his attention.
He laughed at that, catching up to her so they could walk in pace.

"Is there an occasion you're dressed for?" He asked her, making her realize he wasn't aware of her past or reputation yet. She couldn't help but wonder if he'd be disgusted by her if he did.

"Aiming for extra credit," She joked instead, dodging any truth.

June was furiously shaking as she stood outside in the courtyard, needing the cold of the night to make sure she didn't blow her fuse. She could not believe she had blown such a simple hit that badly. And she was also sure that she had dislocated her thumb from having to slip the handcuffs off. All in all, it was a terrible night. She ignored as Marcus and Willie walked by, feeling too ashamed to see anyone's face.

"I need a minute," Marcus told Willie, and motioned his head to wear she was sitting. Willie understood and gave him a fist-bump before heading back inside the heavy wooden doors. Marcus slipped two cigarettes out of his pack, hoping to offer one as a symbol of peace to June.

He walked over and nudged her shoe so she would look up. Her face had never looked so sunken before, and he was alarmed by the bruises forming on it. She took the cigarette without any sign of what was going through her head, when her face was usually quite readable to Marcus.

As he went to light his own cigarette he finally took notice of his hands. They where covered in splatters of blood. The sight froze him as his hands started to shake. This caught the attention of June, who was about to reach out to him. Instead, Maria interrupted complaining Marcus embarrassed Chico. June became even more enraged and tried to block out their convo as she lit her cigarette.

June did her best at blocking them out, but she couldn't help but watch as Maria went to kiss him. Right as their lips were about to touch he pulled away, letting out a cough to try and play it off.

"I-I have enough problems," He offered as an explanation.

"Petra cooked up some moonshine," Maria told him changing the subject. "Everyone's getting wasted in the graveyard. You should come."

"Maybe," He said looking back to June who dodged eye contact. "Um, I mean, yeah, sure."

"Maybe, I mean yeah sure," She laughed repeating his stuttering. "You're a real crack up, para veño." He couldn't help himself watch her walk away.

The sound of Jude stomping her cigarette snapped him back and he spun back to her. She was now stood up trying to wipe off any dirt and debris on her butt.

"Are you okay?" He asked, afraid he was about to step on a landmine. She let out a shakey breath and ran a hand through her hair.

"No, I-I cannot fucking believe how bad I screwed up tonight," She began ranting, "If I can't even fucking kill some scumbag like him, then how the hell am I ever going to k–"

She choked on her words, upset she may never be strong enough to kill the one man shes dreamt her whole life of killing. Marcus intwined his fingers with hers, assuming it would soothe her more than words. But as he looked at her he couldn't help but let his fingers trail up to the bruises on her cheek. She flinched at first, but then leaned into the warmth as he cupped her cheek.

Marcus thought it looked so unnatural to see a face like her's harmed, as if a gore artist had reimagined all the saints.

June had collected herself in the moments he was observing her, and grabbed his hand from her cheek. She flipped it so his palm faced the sky, taking in all the different dots of blood that covered them.

"Willie and I we, uh, we went out to complete the assignment," He started telling her, and she looked up at him with the most concerned eyes he had seen in years. "His name was Rory, he was awful. I-I knew it had to be him. I just didn't realize I'd actually get this far, huh?" He tried to laugh it off, but June saw right through it.

"I don't know if anyone's just flat out said it yet, but this isn't easy what we do," She said trying to reassure him. "It's okay to be upset about it. Shit affects us, we're still human beings. Just know that I'm here each step of the way, okay?"

June was sure her comfort was shit, but she was trying her best. She remembered how hard it was when she first arrived here, and she caused nowhere near as much trouble as Marcus had on his first day.

"I don't understand why I keep telling you so much," He admitted, obviously starting to become aware of the way people manipulate you at King's.

"My mom always told me I had the kindest eyes," June told him warmly at the memory. "I think thats the trick."

"More like alien eyes," He mocked, she went to push his chest in rebuttal but he pulled her in for a hug. She was caught off guard again that night, but this time in a good way. She wrapped her arms around his waist and enjoyed the first wholesome embrace she had had since her mom.

"I'm gonna go change before the graveyward," She told him as they pulled away. She ran off before he could say anything else and he grinned at her disappearing figure; finally able to light his cigarette.

June made her way to one of the phone's on campus. It took three rings before her greatest confidant answered.

"Junie?" Elliot's crackly voice sounded over the line.

"I fucked up," She breathed harshly, getting the urge the punch the wallpaper that lined the hallways.
