Alei

"Amirah!"

"Yes mommy?"

"For the last time stop playing in the water. Don't make me come in there behind you."

After I yelled that, I heard the pipe shut off and saw her ran past my bedroom door.

I was laying down trying to get some kind of rest but she refused to stay put.

"Please don't be harden like your sister." I spoke to my belly.

It was going on midday and I was waiting on my mother and aunt to get back with food.

Aug had left already so it was back to just me, my belly and the energizer bunny.

Even though he spent the night last night, I was in my feelings because I hadn't seen him all day yesterday and we barely spoke.

"Mommy, phone!" Amirah yelled as she came running with it.

"Give it to me and climb up here."

"But I-" She paused when she saw my face.

Huffing, she climbed up and sat.

"Make me rest a lash on you for all that huffing you doing." I scolded her as I answered my phone.

"I know you aint talking to my goddaughter like that."

"You better come get her before she gets it." I said annoyed.

"Hey bellies!" He joked.

"Hey." I sighed.

"Uh uh. What's wrong?"

"I'm tired and ready to have this baby so my life can go back to normal."

"Relax. Ya got a couple more weeks again."

"I know but it seems like forever. It wasn't like this when I was pregnant with Amirah."

"And look how she is now." He laughed.

"I blame you and August and her father."

"Really? You're going to put that on all of us."

"Yes now change the topic."

"What you doing?"

"Not a damn thing. Aug left so its back to just being here."

"He left?"

"Yep. I dropped him off at the airport this morning."

"Why the hell are you driving Alei?"

"Because I can."

"Aleisha, you are eight months pregnant. You shouldn't be driving."

"You sound like Aug and my mother." I rolled my eyes.

"Because its the truth."

"I'm fine ok. I'm careful when I do it and I wear my seatbelt."

"That's besides the point. Stop that shit and get you a driver. Now where is my MiMi?"

"Laying upside down right next to me." I looked at her.

"Its just y'all at the house?"

"Yep. My mom went by my aunt to get food. Neither of us felt like cooking." I laughed.

"You ready for that little one though?"  He asked as he laughed.
