IT WAS INEVITABLE

It felt like a dream that day— more like a nightmare.

My ice cream gradually melts,
so does our love—
no, his love for me was.
(and soon, mine did too)

We broke apart (I don't know if it affects him but it affects me alot),
we went from being familiar to
being distant.
Then the late night thoughts—
the dreams;

I dreamt
of you and I,
content
with each other being so happy—
mirthful laughter echoes the vast space around us—

But it was at late night
I woke up wishing that
you did not absquatulate,
making me stay up so late at night,
thinking you would come back—

Some thoughts I had,
I knew you wouldn't come back.

A peaceful dream
full of felicity— something
I wish was sempiternal,
was shattered with you gone.
