Rei was passed out on the sofa when Izuku came home from patrols. Once again, she had been training with her parents. It was lucky she had managed to get away for long enough to head home.

Izuku grabbed a blanket that she had dumped on the side and gently lay it on her, before heading to his room to change out of his costume.

Rei had been training with her parents almost every day for the past few weeks, so he hadn't managed to tell her about everything he heard at the bar, not face to face, and they avoided putting too much information in texts anyway.

He stopped off at her room on his way back downstairs to grab a teddy from her room. He knew how much she loved it, even if she claimed she didn't. She and Toru were given matching teddies for their first birthday, and Rei had made sure to keep hers safe.

Toru probably had as well, but Izuku was too awkward to ask.

Patrols still felt weird without Rei, even if it had now been weeks since he had even seen her. He didnt think he would ever get used to it. He had briefly considered trying to team up with another vigilante, but he didnt want to replace Rei.

She meant the world to him.

He floated into the kitchen and grabbed a plate from the cupboard and started digging around, looking for ingredients. Rei loved pancakes, as Izuku had learned from having to clear up after she had decided she wanted some at 3am.

In her defense, if he could eat, he would do it all the time.

He  checked to make sure she was still asleep and started mixing the ingredients. Rei started to wake up just as he finished cooking them.

"Hey, Rei." He walked over to her and handed her the plate. She took it gratefully and started to eat, peering up at him through lidded eyes, though she was still smiling, despite her clear exhaustion.

"Hey, Izuku. Did you miss me?"

He laughed and she shifted over to let him sit down next to her on the sofa. "So, Toru said that you had some fun when you went to the villains base. Something about causing complete and utter chaos?"

Izuku grinned and started explaining what happened. Rei laughed and smiled widely, seeming to forget her exhaustion. She had missed Izuku so much over the few weeks they had been apart, and was glad to see him again, but part of her was afraid of what would happen when she had leave leave again...

Maybe even for good.

"So where is Toru? That training camp is soon, right?"

Rei looked at him, shaking herself from her stupor and nodded. "It started yesterday, I think. I was too tired to notice."

Izuku stiffened. "I-it's already started?" He grabbed his phone from his pocket and attempted to call Toru.

"Hey, this is Toru Hagakure. Just leave a message after the beep.l."

He cursed to himself and tried again.

"Hey, this is Toru Hagakure. Just leave a message after the beep."

He checked through all the messages she had sent him and managed to find the one he was searching for.

"Oh, and the training camp's with the wild wild pussycats, btw."

He checked the news for anything about the pussycats or the training camp but found nothing.

Maybe there was no signal there? That could be it.

But then Izuku remembered what the villains had said. They were planning to attack the training camp.

Toru could be in danger.

"Rei, we need to go. Toru isn't picking up her phone."

"Huh?" Rei questioned "It'll be nothing bad. Just no signal or maybe they were forced to turn off their phones."

Izuku had already grabbed his costume from the side (he always kept a spare where he could grab it) and was pulling it on, on top of his pyjamas. "The villains were planning on attacking the camp. Their aim is to capture one of the students."

Rei looked confused but after a second realisation crossed he face. "Oh shiiiiii-" she sprang up from her seat and grabbed her costume from the table as well, forcing it on. "You dont think it's Toru, is it? If something happened to her because I wasn't paying attention."

Izuku was ready, but he just grabbed a few spare knives off of the side, tucking them into his belt and taking his phone out, to try and call Toru once more.

She didn't pick up.

"Unlikely. They probably want to turn the person, so they'd want someone openly hostile, no clear connections or loyalties to a hero, previous villainous behaviour. Oh shit..."

"They'll be after Kacchan."

Rei looked up at Izuku. "Wait, we have to save that asshole? Cant we just leave him?"

Izuku tried not to laugh, this really wasn't the time. "No, we cant show any bias. Anyone else and we'd try to save them. We cant show a dislike to any one student. Also, I though you were the hero."

Rei stuck her tongue out. "Na, you're more of a hero than me. All Might's not nothing on you."

Izuku smiled at her as she finished putting on her shoes and stood up. She looked up at him and smiled widely.

"Time to be heroes."
