You and Gordie were sitting near the back of the theater classroom. He was helping to write the script for the play and you were auditioning for it. This was your big day. Your audition. After a full week of panicking about what to do for the small paragraph
that decided your role in the upcoming play. You picked something that you loved a lot and you know he would too; The captain's oath from Star Trek. A couple of people went before you and you could feel your heart pounding as you watched the others perform. You felt a hand on your shoulder; it was Gordie. Your heart started pounding faster. You turned around to look at him and he pulled you into a hug and whispered
"You're going to do great (y/n)".
The teacher called your name off the list. You slowly pulled away from his warm embrace and walked up to the front of the classroom. You could feel the dozens of eyes looking up at you from their desks. Gordie gave you a big smile and a thumbs up. You smiled back and stood up straight and started. "Space, the final frontier: these are the voyages of the star ship enterprise.
