30 part 2

"This is what you get for being a bitch!" He yells at me. I kick my feet at his lower region, getting a good hit. He lets go of my legs and hunches over. I stumble to my feet. My tights rip as I stand from the wooden ground. I feel splinters and cuts all over my legs. I clench my teeth, trying to ignore the pain. There's a sharp pain in my shoulder, and the side of my head is throbbing from hitting the ground.

I continue to beat on the door. I keep screaming Ondreaz's name, but it's useless over the sound of the music. Suddenly, the music stops. I'm guessing the DJ is switching songs. I take the moment to scream Ondreaz's name louder than I have been. I feel Bryce's hands cover my mouth. I sink my teeth into his hand and continuously jab my elbow into his stomach. He grunts and pulls back, yelling in pain. He pushes me hard, and my whole body jolts forward against the door. I turn around and look at him. He looks possessed.

He wipes the blood off of his face with the back of his hand. He walks over to me quickly as his chest heaves up and down. I look around me, and grab a metal pole. "Let me go, or I'll hit you," I threaten him. He turns his head to the side, and he spits out blood. "Go ahead and do it. See where it gets you." He slowly gets closer to me. Before I can swing the pole, his hands wrap around my neck. I scream Ondreaz's name a final time.

His grip tightens. I swing my arms, but they become weaker and weaker. I feel my body slowly start to give out. My eyes begin to close as the grip around my neck gets tighter and tighter. This is it. I'm going to die. I'll never be able to see Ondreaz again. I'll never be able to tell the people I love goodbye. My body falls to the wooden floor. My eyes squint open. I see Ondreaz sitting on top of Bryce furiously punching him over and over. People try to pull him off, but he doesn't stop. Finally, three large guys come and drag him off of Bryce.

My eyes start to shut again. I feel hands on my shoulders. I open my eyes again. The girl that was DJ'ing is saying something. "What?" I ask. "Are you okay? Do I need to call an ambulance?" She asks. I shake my head. "No, I'll be fine." "I'm going to go look for a first-aid kit," she says to me. I nod and thank her. I see Troy running over to me. "Sam, are you okay?!" He asks me in a panic. "I'm fine." "You don't look fine. Your whole body is covered in cuts," he says to me. "I'll be fine," I say, my voice barely audible. "What happened?" He asks me, his voice much softer this time. "I came out for some fresh air, and Bryce was out here.

I tried to defend myself, but he got me. I kind of blacked out when he started chocking me," I say to him, trying to hold back tears. He sits down beside me and wraps his arm around my shoulder. I rest my head on him. "Why me?" I ask. "I don't know, but I know it's not fair. You're a good person. Sam, you're so strong for being able to put up with this." I hear heels clicking against the ground. I look up and see Natalie. I groan and roll my eyes. "Troy, come inside so we can... talk," she says winking as she says 'talk'. "I'm busy," he says to her.

She whines like a child. "Pleasee," she begs. "Shut up," I say under my breath. "What?" She asks, putting her hand on her hip. "I don't remember stuttering?" I say to her. She glares at me, and I scoff. "Go away, Natalie. No one wants to deal with your shit right now," Troy says to her. She gasps and leaves, brushing her hair off of her shoulder. "I need to see Ondreaz ," I say to Troy as we sit there. "Okay, I think he's at the car with Anthony." He says as we begin to walk. We pass the orange-haired girl. "Hey! Are you okay?" She asks me. I smile and nod. "I'll be alright. Thank you." She nods. She turns to the boy behind her. He looks at her, then to me. I look at them confused. "What?" I ask. "You should at least go see a doctor about your cheek and lip," the brown- haired boy says.

I know they're right, but it's just embarrassing to have to tell someone you were almost beaten to death. "I'm Mahogany, by the way,," she says to me before opening up the first- aid kit. "I'm Sam." "I'm nick," the boy says. I smile at him. "This is Troy," I say and point to him. He smiles. They exchange hello's. Mahogany puts a bandaid on my cheek and puts some clear cream on my lip. "Take it easy from now on, alright?" She says with a laugh. I laugh and nod. "It was nice meeting you," I say to her. I tug on Troy's arm to try to get his attention. Him and Nick are in a deep conversation about video games. "I'll text you or something," Nick says to Troy. He nods, and we walk off.

We walk out to the car, and I see Ondreaz pacing up and down the driveway. I hear Anthony trying to calm him down. I run over to Ondreaz. He stops and stares at me. His arms wrap around me. He holds me close to him with his lips pressed to my forehead. I feel him walking away. "Come on," he whispers into my ear. We walk away, and I hear him open a car door. We climb into the back of Ant's car. Dre takes off his sweatshirt along with his black t-shirt, and I see his chest glisten with sweat. "Why are you sweating?" I ask. "Don't worry about that right now," he says as he leans into me. Our lips are barely touching. His eyes stare into mine. They're dark, and they look full of anger. I move in closer and give him a kiss. "I love you," He says to me. I stay stay silent for a minute. My heart pounds faster in my chest, and my stomach does flips. "I- I love you," I say to him.

"Why are we in the car?" I ask with a small laugh. "I just needed to be alone with you," He says to me. I lightly brush my fingertips up and down his arms. "Let's go back to the house. There's a hammock outside that we can sleep on," I say to him. "Okay. But, please just kiss me right now. I need to calm down," he says and kisses me again. After a few minutes, I pull away. "We should go now," I say to him. He nods and kisses me one more time. We get out of the car, and I see Ant and Jaze talking in the driveway. "I'm gonna see you again soon, right man?" Jaze asks Ant. "Of course! I'll be over here tomorrow, and I'll help you clean this place up."

They do some handshake before Anthony walks away. "See ya, Sam!" Jaze calls to me. I wave to him. We all get into the car and drive home. Ondreaz and I sit in the backseat together. He has his arm wrapped around me, and I rest my head on his shoulder. When we get to the house, everything is dark and quiet. We all let out a breath of relief as we walk through the garage door and upstairs, into the house. "I'm gonna go change, then I'll meet you out back," I say to Cam. He nods. I walk upstairs and change into the big hoodie that was his, a pair of leggings, and black socks. I walk downstairs and out the back door. I see Cameron laying on the hammock, covered up with blankets. I walk over, and he smiles at me. I lift the covers up before I crawl in beside him.

He wraps his arm around me, and I rest my head on his chest. "How ya doing, baby?" He asks me. "I'm still shaking a little, but I'm better now." "Good," he says and kisses the top of my head. "How are you doing? Let me see your knuckles." He sticks his hands out, and I stare at the open cuts on his knuckles that are covered in dried blood. "Ondreaz, you should have told me! I would have gotten something to clean this." "It's fine." "I'm going to get a first-aid kit-" "No! You're staying here, with me." I sigh and swing my leg over him. He combs his fingers through my hair.

"Do you ever think about the future?" He asks me after a few minutes of silence. "Like after high school?" I ask him. "Yeah." "Well, I know I want to go to college and make something of myself. What about you?" I ask him. "I do want to go to college, but I don't want to be away from you. And, graduation is coming up soon-" "Shh," I cut him off. He kisses the top of my head again. "I have something for you," he whispers. I look up at him questioningly. "What is it?" I ask him. He reaches in his pocket and pulls out a small velvet container. When he opens it, there's a small ring inside. My eyes go wide. "Dre-" "Relax, it's not an engagement ring," he laughs. "It's a promise ring. It's a promise that I'll always be yours, and no matter if we're far apart or not, you'll always be the one I want.

I love you more than words can describe, Samantha Hart. You are my world." "Ondre... I don't know what to say..." "Merry Christmas," he says with a smile. I feel a tear slip down my cheek. I wince as it slides into one of my cuts. "Are you okay?" He asks. I nod. "Why are you crying?" He asks me. "Because!" "Because why?" "Because this means a lot to me!" He slides the thin silver band with the small diamond in the center onto my third finger on my right hand. I lean up and kiss him. He cups my cheek with his left hand and deepens the kiss. I pull myself closer to him, leaving no space between us. His hand moves from my face and down my body. My fingers tug at the band of sweatpants. His hands cover mine. "I want to," I say breathlessly. "Not here." I sigh and flip onto my back. "Don't be mad at me." "It's just frustrating." "What? That I won't have sex with you?" He laughs.

I look away from him, embarrassed. "Sam, I just don't want you to regret anything," he says as he wraps his arm around me again. "I wouldn't regret anything, Dre. I've tried multiple times, but you continue to turn me down." "You really want to do it?" "Obviously." "Soon. I promise," he says. "Okay," I whisper. He smiles and pulls me into him again. I fall asleep with my head on his chest. ***
