Its been a few days since you were released from the hospital. You haven't heard from Seth ever since his outburst at the hospital that night. For the past few nights, you checked his room each morning, but never any sign of him. You weren't too worried, however. You were dealing with other matters. You sit at your desk in your room, with a laptop. It's Seth's but he doesn't seem to ever use it, so you took it and hooked it up in your room. You sit back for a minute, then begin typing.
Damon Merrick
Not much pops up. Just results for Facebook profiles and some CEO founder somewhere in another country. You scroll down more and find a news article. You being curious, you click it. It says that an alleged drug dealer with a criminal history went missing back in 2010. It also says that he owned an old mill outside of town, ran it as a punk-club until it was burned down by a bizarre forest fire, unknown how it started in the first play. This was all reported by Arcadia Bay police and officials.
You take in this info and lean back into your chair. "Hmm... 2010? That was three years ago... Odd."
"He isn't missing, he just doesn't want to be found." You hear a familiar voice state. You turn around to see Donovan, staring at the computer screen. "What are you planning on doing, (Y/N)?"
"Doing a little research on this guy," You say. "I hear that's a good way to help get away with murder."
Donovan facepalms.
"(Y/N), let's not blow this out of proportion."
"Blow it out of proportion?" You dramatically question. "I'm sorry but I was shot in the chest, being put in the hospital for about two fucking weeks."
"Okay, and you're doing well for someone being shot in a vulnerable area, are you not? Also, I think it's completely ridiculous how you lie to your 'girlfriend' by saying it was an attack from behind. If she knew more about what happened, she wouldn't have bought your bullshit. But... From behind? Really? You were shot in the chest, idiot."
"I wasn't thinking straight, okay? She might try and go do something stupid enough to get her hurt." You calmly state.
"I understand that, I suppose." He says, a bit tenderhearted. "But you're gonna have to carefully plan this out, (Y/N)."
"I know..." You look up at the time.
Its 9:30 AM.
"Got somewhere to be?" Donovan asks.
"No, but I'm bored." You say, getting up. "I'm going for a walk, I need peace."
You walk out of your room, leaving Donovan behind. He doesn't pursue you or anything. He just looks like a disappointed parent. Not that you would care, you barely even know this guy. He does seem kind of smart though. After all, he knows what you're thinking, and knows exactly how it would lead to your doom.
You put on a hoodie and approach the main door. You flick your wrist and the door swings open with force. You don't even know where the fuck you're going. Seth has been out of sight ever since the incident at the hospital because of a dumb practical joke Donovan pulled. But you feel, that's not his problem. Yes, he was probably mad at that for a moment, surely. You really don't think he'd dissapear because of it. You started to feel suspicious, but your thoughts were interrupted when you entered a park, a basketball came rushing towards you. Your reflexes kick in, and you catch it effortlessly. You look around to see where it might've come from. You notice a group of rough looking guys standing at the park's basketball court.
"Of course," you mutter.
They were signaling you to toss it over, and you do just that. They catch it and and the guy who caught it, nodded his thanks. See? Finally a problem you didnt cause! You felt proud of yourself for not fucking things up. You also realize how big of a deal you were making about this. You laugh it off and continue walking into the middle of the park where there is a big tree. You sat down under the giant oak tree and rest. You look around and see a bunch of Rachel Amber posters around.
