Trigger warning: idk if I have to put a trigger warning but if school shootings or blood or wounds trigger u, maybe don't read this :) x

Jades pov:
I slammed my locker, hard, the scissors stuck to it vibrating at the impact. Beck jumped, hands in the air in mock defeat. A smirk appeared over his tan face, as he reached for my hand that was clenched in a tight fist. Violently, I jerked it away and took a step back. His brow furrowed in confusion.
"What's wrong?" He asked innocently, his deep voice infused with concern. My eyebrows arched in anger.
"I saw you, hugging Tori earlier." I hissed, biting my tongue. I could say more, but i didn't feel like it right now. He stared at me, visibly confused.
"I was just congratulating her." He said, defending himself. He looked mad now. I folded my arms over my chest.
A shrill ringing interrupted us. The bell for class.
"We have sicowitz." Beck said softly, trying to place his hand on my back delicately. I scowled at him and shook him off and marched off to class, tears threatening to spill from my eyes, but I blinked them quickly away. My clunky black boots made a loud thud as I stormed angrily to class, glaring at anyone who I saw. Tears brimmed once more and I blinked them back forcefully again and flung the door for Sicowitz class open.
As I stormed in, Tori and Andre gazed round to see it was me, and Sicowitz smiled as he always did.
"Ahh, sweet feminine Jade!" He teased, sipping his coconut milk noisily. I sat down moodily and absent mindedly placed my bag on my chair to save the seat for Beck like I usually did.
I waited for Beck, anxious as to where he'd got to.
Squeakily, the door opened and I turned around sharply to see Cat and Robbie - but no Beck. I brought my heels up onto the chair and hugged my knees, knowing I'd messed up. I twiddled my jet black hair around my finger and remained silent as people chattered.
Finally, after 5 more minutes, Beck sauntered in.
"Sorry Sicowitz, i was getting a soda." He smiled, shaking his open soda can. I heard the contents slosh around and fizz and then I heard him take a sip to stop it overflowing. He shut the classroom door quietly and walked carefully over to where I was sitting.
"You gonna move your bag?" He asked softly, placing a hand on my shoulder. I looked up at him slowly, still hugging my knees and sighed. With one hand I slung my bag noisily onto the floor, letting it clatter into the chairs infront.
"Jade, would you like to make any MORE noise with your bag?" Sicowitz said, sipping again at his coconut. I didn't say a word, not even a sarcastic comment which was rare for me.
Beck sat quietly next to me for a while, hands resting on his own legs. He didn't even look at me. I sighed and put my legs on the floor again, crossing one over the other.
I looked over to Beck to see him deep in conversation with Robbie. I slumped further in my seat and pulled out my pear phone, and opened The Slap, scrolling through my feed.
I felt Becks body move and shift to face me, but I stubbornly stayed on my phone. Suddenly a hand went over the screen and pushed the phone down into my lap.
"Jade?" He murmured, his chocolate brown eyes begging me to talk to him. I shot him a look, a Jade West glare, but didn't look away.
He shuffled closer tried to take my hand again, but I ripped it away quickly. Sighing, he looked down at his lap in exasperation.
All of a sudden, a repeated bell rings. Everyone gets up, thinking it's a practice fire drill, grabbing their bags; but Sicowitz hushes us and locks the doors. Quickly, he snaps the blinds shut.
"Please stay in your seats for now." He says intensely.
Me, Beck, Andre, Robbie, Cat and Tori all share a look. We know what's happening here. I shiver and my hands start to shake violently as I try to push back my anxiety. No one else seems to notice except Beck who places a hand round my shoulders and gives me a small smile. I don't shake him off this time - whats the point, I want him right now. I need him to stay with me if this is what we think it is...
"It's gonna be okay." He whispers in my ear as he pulls me closer so my head is resting on his shoulder. I smile slightly, fiddling with my ear piercing.
"Kids...." Sicowitz says gravely.
All of us turn to him quickly, sensing a drastic change in his usual tone. The usual fun, happy go lucky hippy was now serious - and that scared me.
"What's happening Sicowitz..." Tori murmurs. I don't even have the energy to mock her.
"I need you all to get in the corners or under funiture and for the love of god stay away from the doors and windows." He says, dragging a desk so it was across the door. He does so to the other door and then walks back to the stage at the front of the classroom.
"Oh come on we're not babies what's going on Sicowitz." I snarl, i was getting more and more anxious now. It was swirling inside me like a storm, and I felt sick.
"There's 2 active shooters in the building..." he murmurs,"I've just been informed via email that 2 males entered the building and have shot the reception lady." He shakes his head in desperation and sits down by the door, switching the lights off as he does.
Quickly, we all get up and find a place in the room that's safe, away from windows and doors. Me, Beck, Tori, Cat, Robbie and Andre sit in the corner under two desks - me, Beck and Cat under one and Robbie, Andre and Tori under the other.
I sat quietly shaking, as I felt a hand rest on my thigh.
"Hey?" A deep voice whispered. I sighed and looked at Beck in the dark of the classroom.
"Hey." I murmured, taking his hand from my thigh and interlacing our fingers instead. I looked down at our hands.
"I'm sorry, about earlier... I'm sorry if you thought that. I don't want anyone but you." He smiled warmly and brought my hand up to his lips and kissed it.
"Beck..." I said, my voice wavering. I looked at him, my eyes brimming with tears. Beck saw this and his face fell. He rarely saw me cry, but I only cried in-front of him, I could be vulnerable around him...
Quickly, he pulled me into his chest and held me tightly, stroking my hair.
"Settle, settle." He whispered, holding me tighter as I cried quietly, trying to make sure no one notice.
          *************************************
It had been 3 hours now, and we were still sitting under the desks, huddled together. Beck had his arm now protectively round my waist and his over arm over my stomach, his hands clasped over me. I layed my head on his shoulder and snuggled into him.
Cat, Andre, Tori and Robbie were all chatting quietly, which was comforting to hear.
I heard police sirens off in the distance and felt a little safer. I closed my eyes and cuddled further into Beck, and it stayed like that for quite a while. Then,I felt his grip on me tighten, and he shifted me closer to him.
The chatter fell silent and I opened my eyes slowly and looked up at Beck.
"What's going on?" I murmured, seeing the worry plastered over his usually laid back expression.
I shook him, getting him to look at me.
"N-nothing babe, go back to sleep." He murmured, stroking my hair.
I heard Cat squeak as she gazed at the door. I followed her gaze and swallowed as I saw what everyone was looking at. A shadow. Behind the white shutters was the distorted outline of a man...
I shifted closer to Beck, grabbing Cats hand as well. She looked at me, her soft brown eyes filled with tears.
"Cat..." I whispered , pulling her closer to me. She was clinging onto Robbie's hand as well.
Three taps rapped on the door. Sicowitz held a finger to his lips to shush us. I looked up at Beck, my eyes watering now. He kissed my forehead delicately and held me firmly. I flashed my eyes back to the door and saw the locked doors handle start to jiggle. I froze, a tear falling gracefully from my eye.
"Beck... if we don't make it...." i murmured, but he placed a hand over my mouth to stop me finishing.
I removed it quietly and interlocked our fingers, my other hand holding Cats.
"Beck, listen please. I love you, okay?"I whispered, squeezing his hand shakily. I saw his eyes well with tears.
"I love you too, Jade, but we'll be okay." He said in a hushed tone. I shook my head and gestured to jiggling door handle.
Then suddenly, BANG. Glass shattered everywhere as the window was shot in the door. The bullet ricocheted off the wall in front of the door and landed in front of me and Cat, barely missing us.
"Fuck." I whispered, shaking violently. Beck was shaking now, but he pulled me between his legs so he was protecting me, one arm firmly around my chest and he pulled Cat under his other arm.
A tan, muscular hand reached through the now blown out window and reached for the lock, unlocking it. No no no, this couldn't be happening. There was still a table over the door though.
Sicowitz reached quietly over and grabbed a baseball bat that he had lying around as a prop, and gripped it in his hands tightly.
I see the handle go down and the door open slightly, and then gets stopped by the table: only to be violently smashed in. The table clatters over loudly and the door swings fully open.
I'm sweating now, tears brimming in my eyes.
I see two men - one tan with black hair and another pale with blonde hair, both are fairly young around miss 20's.... both have huge guns.
They smirk, walking round the room, taunting people, aiming the barrels at peoples heads. I heard people sobbing, begging for their lives.
"You three, get up." The tan man says huskily, smirking and gesturing at me, Cat and Tori.
I go to do as he says so I dont get shot, but Beck catches my wrist, pulling me back. He shakes his head vigorously.
Cat and Tori stay seated, shaking.
"I SAID STAND UP OR I SWEAR I'LL SHOOT ALL THREE OF YOU." He screams, and we all get up now. I turn back to Beck who's trembling. I clench one of my fists and hold Cats hand with my other. I'm shaking but I try hard to be brave. He aims the barrel at Tori and my heart stops...
I jump infront of her, dropping Cats hand and putting my arms infront of Tori and Cat.
"We've got a brave one, Axel." The tan guy grinned to his friend menacingly. Axel turns his pale face to stare at me, his green eyes piercing me. A sly smile crosses his cheeks.
"Move aside, gorgeous." He winks, pushing my with the barrel of his gun.
"No." I said firmly, my voice wobbling. I wanted Beck so badly. Axel looked annoyed, his eyebrows narrowing.
"I said move." He growled, poking me with the end of the gun.
"Jade, do as he says..." I heard Beck call, his voice shaking.
"No, if this jerk wants to hurt anyone it can be me, can't it." I said, pushing Tori and Cat back. I saw Tori out of the corner of my eye holding Cat, getting back under the table. I'd never had that much respect for Tori but she didn't deserve to die, she was a nice person.
Axel smirked and aimed the gun right at me. I was sweating, my palms dripping. I held my hands infront of me slowly.
"Not so brave now, are we?" He grunted, smiling an evil smile. His tan friend walked out the door of our class room and I heard his footfalls get quieter. I flicked my eyes back to Axels.
It was deadly silent, all I could hear was everyone else breathing.
"Come with me or I'm shooting everyone in this damn classroom." He hissed, grabbing me round my shoulder and placing a hand over my mouth. I glanced over at Beck, who was about to get up and help. No, no. He couldn't get shot, I couldn't let that happen, he meant too much to me...
In the blink of an eye, I bit Axels hand that was over my mouth. He shrieked like a savage cat and then...
BANG!
I collapsed to the floor, clutching my side. Cat and Beck rushed to my side, Sicowitz taking the opportunity to tackle the gun out of Axels hand before he could harm anyone else. He wrestled Axel to the floor, knocking him out cold.
I placed my hand on my side and lifted it to my face, seeing deep scarlet blood coating it like a blanket. I screamed, my eyes filling with tears. The pain was sharp like a constant stabbing and each breathe felt like a brand new gun shot penetrating my side.
"We need to stop the bleeding." Sicowitz panicked, witnessing a puddle of deep red blood forming around me.
I saw Beck and Cat leaning over me, but it was all a blur. I saw Beck taking his shirt off and handing it to Sicowitz.
"Jade? Jade stay awake." Beck panicked, stroking my hair. Meanwhile, I felt Sicowitz holding something to my wound, and Tori calling the ambulance frantically, giving them the details.
I heard Beck crying, but I was too weak to comfort him.
I felt my eyes fluttering shut, and I couldn't be bothered to fight anymore...
"JADE." Beck yelled, shaking me.
"What..." I murmured weakly, opening one eye. I didn't have any energy. I breathed out, gasping painfully for more air. I opened my other eye and looked up at him.
He looked frantic, his hair pushed back and his eyes red and puffy, his cheeks stained with tears.
"You have to stay awake, paramedics will be here soon." He tried to smile, grabbing my hand.
I squeezed his hand with whatever energy I had left and shut my eyes again.
"Jade! Baby stay awake." He whispered, shaking me with his free hand.
"I am." I murmured. The pain was intensifying, each breath racking my entire body with pain. I shrieked, clutching my side, gripping Becks hand.
"Shh." He murmured, stroking my hair. Slowly, he pulled me up so I was lying between his legs, my head propped on his now bare chest. I screamed in sheer agony as he moved me, but it relieved some of the pain. I heard Cat and Tori gasp. I felt Cats small hand slip into mine, and Robbies sweaty palm go into my other hand.
Beck wrapped his arms around my chest protectively as Sicowitz held Becks shirt to my wound.
"I won't ever let anyone hurt you again, I'm so sorry Jade." Beck sighed, kissing the top of my head.
I was struggling for breath now but I needed to tell him it wasn't his fault. He needed to know.
"It's-not-your-fault-Beck."i wheezed, shutting my eyes. I knew I couldn't stay awake much longer. He needed to know I loved him. I didn't tell him enough.
"I-love-you."I stammered, my words slightly slurred.
Slowly, I drifted into unconsciousness, and into a painless sleep, despite Becks best efforts to keep me awake.
"I love you too Jade." I heard as I finally drifted off.
