Days since the start of TRW 35

As always Ruin spent the better part of the night actually sleeping in TRW. He decided hay was not the best thing to sleep on. Tala's OC slept peacefully a couple feet away, unaware of the sharp prickles poking in her back.

'I always see the sun rise here. Have I ever seen the sun rise in reality?' Ruin wondered.

As soon as the NPCs were up, he ordered some food that he munched while waiting for Tala to wake. He also offered a couple carrots to the horses.

Around 8:00 Tala sat up silently and looked around, scanning her surroundings as she always did, scaring the hell out of Ruin.

"Jeez, you're like a zombie!"

Tala chuckled under her breath.

"If it's so easy to scare, you how on earth did you survive until now?" Tala asked, referring to the vast array of blood-chilling monsters the two fought on a regular basis.

Ruin glared at Tala, not sharing in the joke.

"Well, are you ready to get going?" Ruin asked, drawing attention away from his spook.

Tala nodded, gliding to her feet. The two made their way out of town quickly, and following a small goat path, started up the steep rocky slope. Small troll creatures tried to bar the way. They stood no chance against Tala and Ruin.

Slowly they progressed up the harsh terrain, hindered by large boulders, steep cliffs, and small shrubbery that clawed at the travellers like an army of fish hooks. Short trees offered little protection from the howling wind, and by the time Ruin and Tala made their way to Omi village later that day, they were glad the rest of the journey would be in the shelter of a cave.

Omi village was full of Ogres that milled around carrying impossibly large loads of iron ore from the cave.

Tala slipped into the general store to purchase healing potions.

"What can I do for you?" asked the gravelly voice of the ogress behind the counter.

She was like all ogres: close to eight feet tall. She had dark stone-gray skin, not much lighter then Tala's, though Tala's complexion was flawless and the ogress was the texture of sand paper. Some straggly hair fell like a handful of twigs around her round face.

"Yes, six healing potions and two torches," Tala ordered.

"Are you going through the caves?" the ogress asked.

Tala nodded.

"You'll want more then two torches, then," the ogress warned.

Tala paused before answering.

"It's fine," she waved off the warning.

"No! No! There are monsters in the depths of the mountain. They stay out of the light."

"Fine. Four torches," Tala sighed, Looking at the stat window displaying her coins. 'Still only one platinum coin,' she thought sourly.

"That will be two gold and one silver," the ogress said.

Currency in TRW was simple: 10 bronze = 1 silver, 10 silver = 1 gold, 10 gold = 1 platinum, 10 platinum = 1 diamond.

Tala met Ruin at te mouth of the cave.

"Ready?" He asked.

"Yup!" Tala said, gliding past him into the dark cave.

The floor was smooth from countless years of ogres walking over it. Torches attached to the wall lit the halls. Soon they turned away from the worn path and into the dark craggy depths. Stalactites hung from the ceiling like swords waiting to pass judgement. Many ugly and likely blind creatures scuffled around and hid from the soft glow of the torch.
