A/N Entry one: "With the enemy" the prompt was to write more about Keefe's time with the Neverseen.

The song isn't part of the story, and I know Damian McGinty looks and sounds like Fitz, but this song is literally all the words Keefe didn't say to Sophie at the end of Neverseen before he left. Okay, here are the lyrics:

I'll sing it one last time for you
Then we really have to go
You've been the only thing that's right
In all I've done

And I can barely look at you
But every single time I do
I know we'll make it anywhere
Away from here

Light up, light up
As if you have a choice
Even if you cannot hear my voice
I'll be right beside you dear

To think I might not see those eyes
Makes it so hard not to cry
And as we say our long goodbyes
I nearly do

Light up, light up
As if you have a choice
Even if you cannot hear my voice
I'll be right beside you dear

Louder louder
And we'll run for our lives
I can hardly speak I understand
Why you can't raise your voice to say

Slower slower
We don't have time for that
All I want's to find an easy way
To get out of our little heads

Have heart, my dear
We're bound to be afraid
Even if it's just for a few days
Making up for all this mess

Light up, light up
As if you have a choice
Even if you cannot hear my voice
I'll be right beside you dear

Okay, let's get started!

Keefe's P.O.V.

It was the hardest decision I ever made. Those beautiful brown eyes, begging me not to go. But even worse than that was her feelings. I'd never wished I wasn't an Empath before, but in that moment, the hurt and sorrow and worry and betrayal she was feeling--I almost didn't go. I felt sick. I couldn't do that to her. But what choice did I have?

I stared at the cloaked figure in front of me. I knew firsthand what a betrayal like that felt like. What it could do to a person.

When I first found out, I was so broken. I was confused and angry and hurt. Everything I thought I knew was wrong. Sophie had been the only thing holding me together.

I didn't want to do that to her. But I knew I had no other choice. My mom wasn't going to stop until she got what she wanted-me. And the Black Swan was way behind in this war. We didn't even know the Neverseen's motives, whereas they seemed to predict our every move. Unless we found out more, we were doomed.

The best thing I could do was cooperate. At least, for now. If I could find out their plans, or find out who the other members were, we could stop them.

"Keefe."

I met my mom's cold eyes. I saw it now. What I once thought to be love was actually greed and desire. The parent I thought that actually cared about me was just using me for her own gain. I couldn't help but hate her.

"You will be staying here with Alvar. I trust that you will not make any trouble?" She hinted, flashing me a bone chilling grin.

"Who, me?" I said, trying to push aside my pain. "Trouble? I never cause any trouble."
