The Next Day, Cynthia's Class

Team JNPR and RWBY were now in another lecture hall. It was full of books, and the blackboard had a map of an unknown continent. It was mostly green with lush forests with many cities, but the one thing that stood out was the large mountain range cutting verticaly in the middle.

Cynthia walks up to the blackboard and faces the class in front of her.

"As you know, I am your new Ancient Mythology teacher." She starts out. "In this course, I will explain the many Myths and Legends from not just here, but also where I'm from-" She points to the map. "Sinnoh."

The students eyed the map, wondering what was on it and why no one ever heard of it. Cynthia smiles now that she peaked their interest.

"The region is mountainous and temperate and consists of about 70% land and 30% water. Sinnoh is best known for their four lakes, each of which house a legendary creature of legend." She picks up a ruler and points to the first one on the bottom left corner.

"This is Lake Verity, or 'The Lake of Truth'. This is related to the Being of Emotion, Mespirit, as the truth often conveys strong emotions. Legends say that a person that touches Mespirit will have their emotions completely drained away." She said.

She had some of them hanging off their seats. Ruby, Jaune, Yang, and even Weiss had a fearful look after hearing about Mespirit's powers.

"But why?" Nora asks. "I mean, is there a reason why they would do that?"

Cynthia sighs. "I can't say, but many people have gone searching for Mespirit for it's power and it probably grew to dislike people." She said. "It's the same for all of the Lake Guardians."

"Lake Guardians?" Pyrrah looked with wonder.

"Yes." Cynthia had someone flip the lights and turned in the projector. An image pops up revealing three unusual creatures.

They had grey bodies with two tails, small legs, yellow eyes and a red gem on their forehead and center of their tails

They had grey bodies with two tails, small legs, yellow eyes and a red gem on their forehead and center of their tails. The top left one had a blue, cone-shaped head with elf ear-like protrusions on each side. The middle one had a partially magenta face with four long, drooping appendages. The last one on the top right had a yellow head that faintly resembles that of a helmet or a human brain, with it's eyes closed.

"The Lake Guardians are what help keep the balance of the universe, teaching humanity how to think, feel, and act. The pink creature is Mespirit."

They all looked at the image, wondering just how such creatures could have existed.

"Have you ever meet one of them?" Said a girl in the back.

This was Velvet, the girl Ruby mentioned from before. She was a pretty girl, with light skin that contrasted nicely with the head of brown hair that flowed down past her shoulders. However, her most distinct features were the pair of long, brown, rabbit ears that rose up from the top of her head.
