Opposites Attract

Chapter 1 (The Beginning)

Hello, names Trin and this is my story on how I got together with the man I call my boyfriend and have been for more than a year now. It started in Middle School during lunch, I was sitting with the girls and eating lunch and talking. I had gotten on this kick where if I saw someone alone I'd tell the girls and then we'd go sit with them. I bet you already know where this is heading. I saw a guy sitting alone during lunch I told the girls and we headed over and sat with him. Even though we kinda talked amongst ourselves and most the time he just listened. He was really funny, to the point I laughed so hard I almost fell out of my seat. I then tried to flirt with him and mind you I never had flirt with any guy before. So I got up and spoke while smiling "Guess I'm falling for you huh?" He blushed slightly and then the bell rang for the next class. Little did I know that guy I tried to flirt with would be my new partner for that class. I walked to my locker and grabbed my stuff then headed in dropped my stuff off then went by my friend Katie's locker and waited for her then we walked in together. We were being given new seats I walk in and find my stuff on the floor. I just look at the stuff and then roll my eyes. I mumble under my breath " You couldn't just put it on another desk or on the back table?" I then hear my name and I look at the teacher as I get my things off the floor. "Trin with Austin over there." As he pointed at where I was gonna sit I look over and see it's lonely kid. I beamed happily, I wasn't gonna be put next to someone who doesn't like me! I skipped over happily and spoke in a cheery tone "Heyyyy! Lonely kid coincidence we were put together huh!" He just nodded and smiled lightly. I couldn't help but notice him blushing lightly and I couldn't help but smile. It had been forever since I smiled without thinking. I then finished the bellringer and got my notebook out and wrote another poem that popped into my head. I saw him looking over and when I finished I slid the notebook over and whispered: "Knock yourself out." Then smiled lightly. He was surprised but took it relentlessly and I could see his face grow concerned. I then realized something. Crap! I also wrote poems about my father and how he treated me as well as my depression! I then chuckled lightly and quietly. "Hey don't look too deep into it ok? There's no reason to worry. I'm fine. It hit me all too well like the swift breeze from when I went out on the snow-covered porch to escape the yelling and screaming. Even then though I knew I couldn't escape. This was the life I had to put up with. I don't want to bring anyone else into this but I guess it's too late now. As he and I both knew I wasn't fine. He whispered and looked at me with kind and concerned eyes "Hey, it's ok. If you ever need someone to talk to you can always contact me." He then gave me back the notebook and I saw his number in the book. I smiled and then felt tears starting to come out so I raised my hand as I was excused. I signed out then headed to the bathroom and sobbed. No guy had ever cared about me like this before. I was either used, ignored, or mistreated. So having a guy actually care about me for once was a sweet breath of spring air. I smile and cried, soon after I went back. Something told me we were meant to meet. As I walked in I saw him writing down the notes I was missing and when I sat down he smiled and whispered "Shocked and happy?" I smiled and nodded. Just then the bell rung we got our stuff together and I quickly ran over to him and hugged him crying as I spoke in between sobs "Please don't leave me too, your the only guy who has cared about me like this." He hugged me back tightly and spoke softly to me "I won't." And that was only the beginning.
