"Gosh, I hate sparring! It's not like we'll ever use this stuff." Taehyung huffed. He, Jungkook, Hoseok, and I sat in a circle, stretching out for gym class. We were all flapping our legs in a butterfly position together as we chatted.

"It's just to prepare us for what-if scenarios, Tae." Hoseok sighed and folded over himself, bringing his nose to his toes.

Jungkook was stretching his arms, one over the other, as he voiced out his own thoughts. "Exactly! What if the Shadow Clan comes back and attacks us all?"

"Yeah but I doubt that'll ever happen." Taehyung rolled his eyes, stretching his arms as well. I stayed silent and continued stretching. I slid into a split as my thoughts began to drift.

I recalled what my father had said to me a couple days ago: "Big things are about to happen dear." My father was planning something. Could it be just another one of his underground schemes? He wasn't crazy enough to plan something too radical, was he? I had to find out what was going on...

A low whistle from Jungkook brought me out of my thoughts and I looked up at his mischievous expression. "You know Rina, I'll never get over how... flexible you are." He looked me up and down, then was immediately smacked in the back of the head by Hoseok. "OW!"

"Sorry, there was a bug in your hair." I looked over at Hoseok and smiled at his obvious lie. He smiled back and looked away, a light blush on his cheeks.

Just then, the sound of a whistle pierced through the air. We all got up and looked to the source, our gym coach standing in front of all of us.

"Alright listen up. Today, we'll be sparring using your abilities." Huh, we've never done this before... I thought to myself as our coach continued. "With the help of your Magic Arts professors, I've paired you to match the abilities of your opponent. First up we have:" He looked down at his clipboard with a satisfied smile. "Jeon Jungkook and Song Rina."

I looked to Jungkook, who had a satisfied smirk on his face. "No need to be afraid, I don't bite." He winked at me. "Unless you ask me to- OW!"

Hoseok had smacked the back of his head again. "Now you are just asking for it." Taehyung and I rolled our eyes playfully as Jungkook rubbed the back of his head exaggeratedly.

I turned and entered the boxing ring, Jungkook following right after me. As we assumed our fighting stances, Jungkook confidently smirked at me. "Don't go easy on me, Rina. I've been waiting to fight you for real."

"Same goes for you, then. I'm not afraid to play with fire." I decided to smirk back at him a little.

"Ready?" I heard our coach yell, blowing his whistle. "Fight!"

Jungkook wasted no time by making the first move, trying to roundhouse kick me, fire shooting out of his foot. I ducked easily and turned, swinging my leg out to kick it from underneath him.

As he was falling to the ground upside down, his hands shot out fire, quickly propelling him up right again. We were both facing each other again, but I noticed his hands were now on fire.

He brought out his hands in front of him, shooting out a stream of fire in my direction. I halfway backflipped onto my hands in an upside-down pike position, avoiding his blow.

I pushed off my hands, launching myself up right again, and quickly lunged towards him. Grasping the back of his shoulder, I spun myself around him horizontally, my legs gripping his midriff while my arm came around his neck and pinned him down.

I quickly forward rolled out of the way towards the roped boundary of the ring. Looking back to the center, I saw he had already gotten up, a fire blazing in his eyes.

He started madly throwing fireballs in my direction. I quickly ran and flipped along the sides of the ring to avoid the fiery attacks. The entire ring was on fire and I heard our coach's whistle, signaling to stop the match.

Jungkook was not stopping though. He was wildly throwing fire balls at me and I was still trying to dodge all of them. The fire that had caught along the ropes blazed wildly, I couldn't see anything outside of it. I only heard the worried noises of our classmates along with our coach's booming voice shouting. "JUNGKOOK! THAT'S ENOUGH!"

"Jungkook-" I tried to speak to him while simultaneously ducking and dodging his attacks. It was like he couldn't hear me or anyone else, swept up in trying to get a blow on me.

I had to stop this, so I quickly thought of my options. He wasn't listening to me, so I couldn't reason with him. I couldn't get close enough to knock him out. Our peers couldn't see or help me, the fire around the ropes blocking their view of us completely. Thus, I decided to go with a risky option.

Between dodgers, I looked at the fire-blazing ropes behind him, noticing the shadow it casted onto the floor of the ring. I quickly out reached my arm, gesturing my hand toward a piece of the shadow. I lifted my arm in the direction of Jungkook's head, the shadow following my direction.

I watched his eyes go completely black. He then slumped to the floor unconscious. The fire in his palms diminished. I was breathing heavily, my arm still outreached in Jungkook's direction. However, my breathing suddenly froze and my eyes widened at the sight in front of me.

The piece of shadow I had taken from behind Jungkook had engstingugshed a piece of the fire from the ropes. And through that tiny split in the fire, I could see Hoseok's hazel eyes looking directly at me.
