Dear Reader,
Thank you for your precious time —
Hope you like these words of mine. The Phoenix on the Roof is a narrative poem or "verse tale" in six parts. It was partially inspired by S. T. Coleridge's The Rime of the Ancient Mariner (1798) and Dr. Seuss's The Lorax (1971), texts which use metered verse to illustrate human impacts on the natural environment. Please feel free to let me know if any parts confuse you or can be improved.
Also, if you see any words ending in 'd like dar'd, simply read it as the modern-day dared. Thank you to readwithjeremy for reminding me of the historical use of these apostrophes :)
As always, thank you very much for reading / voting / commenting :)
