Kanha mused that the moon draped the world in a chill as did the sky and the whispering wind. But it was only when her gaze met his that a revelation dawned upon her-she had been mistaken.

His bright brown gem radiated an eerie glimmer, colder still than the moon's indifferent shine or the frigid clutch of the wind and sky.

It was those haunting eyes that unsettled her.

From the very moment their gazes intertwined, she sensed the weight of sorrow and darkness that lingered within them. In that instant, she realized... those eyes were etched with more sins and anguish than the chilling vengeance she harbored in her heart.

And Kanha detested that feeling.

Compassion may find a home in the heart of an assassin, but she knew she couldn't indulge in such sentiments as she embarked on a path of destruction. No glimmer of light could be allowed to soak her soul.

"Bambi, if you keep giving me that look, I might just have to borrow your eyeballs," his words carried an unmistakable menace though the inflection in his voice suggested a chilling sense of humor.

Kanha unconsciously gripped his sleeve tighter. Realizing this, she quickly released her hold and took a step back. She had already made up her mind to silence him, just like the rats that were pursuing her. He caught a glimpse of her phantom and while he threatened to take her eyes, it appeared that Kanha was destined to be the one to take his, for witnessing what he shouldn't have.

"From a mock mission to the canyon, huh? For a softie like you, you really seem to have a death wish. Just say the word if you're ready to meet your god, and I'll gladly help you out," he playfully mocked Kanha while deftly adjusting his sleeve.

He wore a slight smile but it lacked warmth-it was the kind of smile that suggested superiority. Once again, Kanha felt a twinge of irritation at the memory of having ever felt sorry for him.

She grasped her kwaiken with deliberate care. Her gaze was fixed intently on him as she discreetly tracked his every move, ensuring he remained oblivious to her intentions.

Her eyes flickered toward his neck, imagining the precise incision needed to deliver a swift merciless blow-clean and decisive. It didn't matter if it led to a mess, Lyrica would find a way to manage the aftermath. What truly mattered was that someone had unveiled her true nature and they had to be eliminated.

"Bambi..." he spoke before shifting his attention to Kanha, "Are you gonna kill me now? Because I see right through you?"

She halted as his eyes locked onto hers, but her grip on the kwaiken remained firm. Her expression hardened, eyes narrowing into a focused stare.

He stifled a chuckle as her expression shifted. He recognized that a little playful teasing would unsettle Kanha's facade. It never failed to amuse him and he was pleased to see that she remained predictably herself.

With a confident stride, he moved closer to Kanha while keeping their gaze locked.

"That's a little mean, you know?" he taunted after halting his stride at a distance of at least two steps between them.

She acted quickly, drawing the kwaiken from her back and aiming a strike at his neck with her right hand. But he managed to seize her wrist, casting a fleeting glance at the weapon as they struggled for dominance.

A sly chilling smirk crept across his face before he deftly slid his hand to snatch the blade from her grasp. But Kanha was perceptive-she mirrored his move, gliding her hand in pursuit. Swinging with her other hand, she landed a punch to his abdomen and then spun around to deliver another blow to his neck.
