"The top 42 from this qualifying round will move on!" chirped Midnight. "But for those who placed lower, don't worry! We've got another way to show your stuff."

Himura looked around the group of students, noticing how significantly smaller it was compared to what it was before.

"And now the main selection really begins! The press corp's going to be jumping out of their seats, so give it all you've got!" Midnight turned towards the screen. "Now on to the second event ... This!"

A cavalry battle?

"Participants will, on their own, form teams of two to four members each and get into a horse and rider formation! The rules are the same as an ordinary cavalry battle—snag your opponents' headbands while guarding your own—but with one exception...

"Each of you have been assigned a point value based on your ranking in the last event!"

The students immediately began to mutter among themselves again, which irked the Pro Hero that stood on the stage. Himura sweat-dropped.

"So the point value of each team depends on its members!" Hagakure happily pointed out.

Midnight stomped her foot. "I'm about to explain it, so shut up already!" she yelled, before calming herself down. "Anyways, yes! And your individual point values start at five, at the bottom! So the student who took 42nd place earned five points, 41st is worth ten ... get it? But our first place participant is worth...

" Ten million points! "

Himura quietly looked over to Midoriya and gave him a look of pity. He looked absolutely mortified as all eyes landed on him.

"The higher ranked students are the ones to aim for. This game is a chance for a comeback. It's anyone's game!" Midnight smirked. "There's more suffering for those at the top. As you must have heard countless times since enrolling into U.A., this is Plus Ultra!

"After taking first place in the qualifiers, Midoriya Izuku has got ten million points!"

I feel bad that he's receiving all this pressure, Himura thought, seeing his widened and almost fearful eyes. It would suck if he ended up losing all of his points this round, too...

Midnight continued to explain the rules of the event before she told the group of students that they had fifteen minutes to form a team. Himura instantly looked over to Uraraka. They gave each other a knowing nod.

"Let's help Midoriya," Himura decided in a heartbeat. Her determined gaze made the auburn-haired girl smile.

"Well, yeah, I guess," Uraraka chortled. "I probably should've expected that kind of statement from you!"

"Huh? What's that supposed to mean—?"

"—Deku!" Uraraka chirped, running towards the green-haired boy and dragging Himura along with her. "Team up with us— whoa."

Midoriya immediately began to cry, his tears gushing out as if he was a broken fire hydrant. It was so strong that even Himura got soaked as well.

"M-Midoriya—"

"Do you guys mean it?!" He yelled out, still crying. "Everyone's probably gonna come after me for my ten million—"

"Yeah, but you'll win if you can just run away," Uraraka replied, wiping the tears off her cheek.

"And I can grab other people's headbands in the process!" Himura happily offered with a smile.

"Well ... I think your overestimating me, though..." He smiled back, looking a bit unsure about the offers.
