For the next several days, Lauren spent practically every moment with Camila. She would bring her her favorite foods and movies and slept over as often as she could. She felt so guilty for leaving Camila the night of the attack, she never wanted her to be alone again.

"Your eye's getting better," Lauren said as she brushed Camila's long dark hair out of her face.

She just nodded.

"How are you feeling?"

"Better. I'm not sore anymore. Some of the cuts are starting to heal up." Camila tried to cover a bruise on  her arm with her hand.

Resting her own hand on top of it, Lauren said, "hey, we're gonna get through this, alright? Don't worry. What do you say tonight, you and I finally get out of this room and go out to dinner?"

Camila looked down, "I don't know, I'm kinda sacred. I don't know if I'm ready to go out yet."

Lauren looked disappointed, which she was, but she tried to hide it for Camila's sake, "that's okay. I can get some pizza and we'll just eat here." She smiled as Camila brought her eyes back up to hers.

"I feel bad" she said.

"Why?"

"Because you've been cooped up in this room with me for 5 days. It's not fair to you."

"Camila, this isn't about me. I'm here for you. I'm always gonna be here for you, no matter what. If anybody hasn't been treated fairly, it's you."

Camila smiled slightly, "I really appreciate it you know. Other than Dinah, Ally, and Normani, none of my friends have come to see me. You're the only one who's been here for me."

Lauren took Camila's cheek in the palm of her hand, rubbing it gently with her thumb, "I don't wanna be anywhere else but here, with you." She pulled her closer and kissed her forehead.

Trying to lighten the mood, Lauren said, "sooo about this pizza..."

"Actually," Camila began, "you've done so much for me over the past few days, the least I could do is go out with you."

"If you're not ready, it's fine, really, I don't wanna rush you. I really don't mind staying here."

"No. I want to go out. I need to go out." Camila stood up and started putting an outfit together.

Following suit, Lauren stood up, "are-are you sure?"

Camila squeezed Lauren's cheeks, "Yes. We're going." Lauren smiled from ear to ear.

Once seated at their table for dinner, Lauren immediately noticed Camila was acting a little funny.

"You okay?" She asked, as Camila pulled her sleeves over her hands.

"Mhm" she responded and kept her eyes fixed on her menu.

When the waiter came over to take their orders, she noticed Camila was giving him zero eye contact, which wasn't like her at all.

"Are you sure everything's alright?" She asked after the waiter left.

Camila hesitated for a moment, "everyone's staring at me" she said quietly.

Lauren frowned, "no they're not."

"Yes they are! I have a freaking black eye, how could they not?" She protested.

"It's barely noticeable." Lauren took Camila's hand, "you look beautiful. I don't know if I've told you or not...but you're the most beautiful girl I've ever had the pleasure of knowing."
