I zipped up the back of my dress and stepped in front of my full length mirror that hung on a wall in my dorm room. I smoothed out a few spots on the top of the skirt and stood there. I looked all around, making sure everything looked good. I don't normally try very hard to look nice, but today was an exception. I moved my hair which I kept half up and half down. The parts that were down were curled and laid on my shoulders.
I did a smokey eye with a cat eye liner and put some lip gloss on. I felt like I was complete, I even surprised myself with how I looked. I grabbed my shoes and slipped them on. They matched my dress and had a four inch heel. I grabbed my cell phone and then walked out my door, locking it behind me. All of the girls had a plan to meetup by the front entrance at 6pm. Prom didn't officially start until 6:30pm, and Class 1-A doesn't make their grand entrance until 7pm.
I stepped into the elevator and pushed the ground floor button. The doors closed and I leaned up against the back wall of the elevator. I checked the time and it was 5:59pm.
The doors opened and I stepped out, walking to the front entrance. The girls were all there commenting each other on how they looked.
"Hey guys." I walked up to the group and realized I was the last one to get there.
"Oh my gosh you look absolutely stunning (Y/n)!"
"That dress really compliments you!" I smiled at Momo and Mina, feeling my cheeks start to warm up. I looked down as I brushed a strand of hair behind my ear.
"Thank you."
"Ok, now that everyone is here we should start heading down. The boys are already down there making sure some final touches are completed."
I nod my head at Mina and we all start to slowly walk down to the field.
Once we arrived we stood behind the stage and we could hear other students start to arrive. We all hung back behind the stage area waiting for our entrance. The boys went back to the dorms to go get into their tuxes since they didn't want to dirty them earlier, so at this point we were just waiting for them to get back.
"Oh, does everyone have their masks?"
Shit. I totally forgot it was a masquerade theme. I never bought a mask!
"I forgot to buy one, sorry guys."
"It's no worries (Y/n)." Momo started walking towards me as something started to materialize out of her left arm. She grabbed it and placed it in my hands. "Wear this."
I looked down at the mask she had just made. It was a light gray that matched my dress perfectly. It was covered in a lace detail and gems all around it.
"It's beautiful Momo... Thank you."
"It's no big deal, really! Alright ladies! Masks on!"
I held the mask up to me eyes and carefully tied it behind my head. Once I finished, I noticed the boys all started to show back up.
"Great! Now that most of you are here, try to find where your date is. We will get organized in about 15 minutes!"
Toko found me almost right away with the help of Dark Shadow. Since we had a few minutes, he went to go find Setsuna to make sure it was still OK to walk with me.
I hung back from the crowd a little bit, watching the sky as the sun started to disappear and the stars started coming out.
After a moment I felt a presence next to me and assumed it was Toko coming back. I just continued to look at the sky.
"You know... I almost didn't recognize you at first, but even through that mask, your beauty shines bright." I was startled by the fact that it wasn't Toko's voice who had just spoken to me. I turned to see a tallish man standing before me with dark blue hair.
"I-Iida?"
"(Y/N)."
"Alright EVERYONE! Get in a line with your dates!"
"Uh, I'm sorry, I have to go."
"Wait. Before you go, I need to ask you something." I looked up into the eyes staring at me through a mask. Was this really happening?
"Will you be my date to Prom, (Y/n)?"
