Outskirts of London, 2018

I wade through the dark mist and I find myself in front of a backdoor of a building. I held unto my coat and I spot a doorknob that hangs beside it, and if you can look closely, it's engraved with the initials D.W. Loud arguments can be heard from the inside, along with glass breaking. I frown, knowing who exactly is in there. With no hesitation, I slam the knob once and it seemingly shut them up. After waiting for a few minutes, the door creaks open, only enough for a peek. Suspicious gray eyes look at my single brown eye.

"It's me, Daniel."

The door opens, and strong hands pull me inside. The said arms engulf me before I could understand what was going on.

"Thought you'd never come, Jared. Praise the lord you're here." The soft tone of the exorcist envelopes me as he lets go. A hard slap hits me behind the back followed by a bear hug. I hug back, realizing I missed the warm nostalgic hug that seemed like home.

"Hey, Julien." He hugs me tighter, and replies,

"I thought you died! Well, everyone who talks to the higher-ups think they're going to die."

"Ironic." Julien, turns to him in dismay, and gives him a look that can only mean as shut it. I look from behind and see a hoodie wearing teen. The hoodie was torn from wear, but the patches seem to say otherwise.

"Miss me, Raycee?" I let go of Julien's suffocating grasp to pat the alien prince's head. The triangular marks on his face turn from soft blue to burning red in a matter of seconds.

"N-no I didn't. It's not like I care about you or anything." He folds his arms and puffs his cheeks from embarrassment. I laugh and decided against teasing him further. I look around the room, trying to see how Daniel's home looked like. The light in the room was more than enough, not strong enough to seep through the door, not dim enough to let each one of us blindly walk around. There was a couch that looked more expensive than any of the things that was within the living room, a coffee table filled with Chinese take-out. A stairway leading upstairs to and a door that was leading to a bathroom.

"So this is your place, huh. How's the church treating you after the last "mission"?" I jokingly tell him to ease the mood after seating comfortably on the couch. Daniel Wright is a part of The Clerical Group against Otherworldly, working as an exorcist for demons and anything that terrorizes the people of the world.

"What do you mean? The one where Raycee almost gets caught as a runaway prince from another realm?" Raycee looked slightly guilty as he mumbled his sorry, "Or when the church actually found out that you brought Julien from the dead and I was an accomplice? You can also pick others from before." An awkward silence was spread from across the room as Daniel took another bite of his gyoza.

"So, uh, why did you call us here anyway, Jared? Or shall I say, Basilisk?" Julien says to erase the awkward tension. The codename came from The Otherworldly Protectors, or TOP for short. An organization dedicated to help otherworldly beings stay safe within our world. Ten years ago, angels came from above and denounced that humanity was not needed any longer. So, they killed innocents and guilty alike. Yet, that wasn't the case for demons, for they were the ones who protected humanity. Chaos stretched from our world to other worlds, opening holes that leads their world to ours, leading themselves to the destruction of many lives of the people in the different worlds. All because of angels straying from the word, turning into demons themselves.

"Don't say that," I hissed, Raycee wheezes into his fried rice. "I hate that name."

"What?! Lucky you, you get to have a really cool code name!" Raycee exclaims, clearly not happy with his own.
