Shiro draws the shortest straw so he's the designate driver for the night, which honestly I'm thankful for.

Pidge laughs and points at Shiro, "Two weeks in a row and I don't have to be the des. is absolutley fucking fantastic!"

"Yeah, until you get shit faced and I have to take care of you," I elbow her in the side and we head out to the car.

When we get to the club it's a little past eight. The  first thing I do is scan the room for Lance, and sure enough there he is standing with Hunk at the bar. We make eye contact and his face lights up before breaking eye contact and quickly whispering something into Hunks ear.

We walk over to them and the first thing Pidge does is order fries because she says that "it's going to be a new tradition for the new summer." I sit next to her and pick at the fries while everyone catches up, and I don't say anything because there really isn't much to say. Every once in a while I look over at Lance who never seems to stop smiling.

One of Pidge's favorite songs comes on and everyone heads out to the dance floor except for me; I then notice that Lance didn't go with the group, he's still sat at the end of the bar. He walks up to me with a grin and I start to freak out.

"Why aren't you out there?" I nod my head towards our friends who are already having way too much fun.

"Eh, I guess I'm just not ready to dance yet," he looks at me then sits on the bar stool next to me, "Can I uh buy you a drink?" and I swear I see his cheeks turn a deep shade of pink.

I don't respond for a second, "Sure why not."

We talk for a while as we drink and watch our friends from afar, I think I could get used to this. Neither one of us has the desire to dance so we just sit and talk. We talk about the most random things from school to what was on our grocery list last week.

Before I know it Lance pops the question, "Can I have your number?"

"Yeah of course," I grin as he hands me his phone and I enter in my number.

As we're on our way home, I get a text from Lance:

Lance McClain: I had fun tonight :)

Me: Yeah, me too. Also thanks for the drinks :)

Lance McClain: No problem ;)

For the rest of the weekend, Lance and I are constantly texting; we exchanged social medias and we mainly talk on Snapchat.

On Sunday Lance has the idea of creating a group chat with everyone in it, so now we're all talking constantly. Eventually everyone agrees that we should all hangout together outside of bars and clubs. Shiro pops in the idea about a day trip to the lake; and then Pidge is already on planning it.

She comes over on Monday while Shiro's at work, we hangout and play video games.

"So I know you like Lance," she says casually.

"Excuse me?" I press play on the show we're watching.

"Bless you, but yeah it's so obvious. You think you're all sneaky and shit, but you're not Keith. You're really not," she takes the remote from my hand and presses play like nothing happened but I take the remote back and press pause again.

"I do not like Lance. I just met him for gods sake!" I roll my eyes and press play.

"You should ask him out when we go the lake," she mumbles under her breath.

"Drop it Pidge. If you want it to happen so badly why don't you get us together," I snap and look over at her, she has a wicked grin on her face.

"Thank you." she chuckles.

What have I gotten myself into.

**A/N: Sorry that this was posted later today I usually have these prewritten but today I only had half of this chapter written so I had to write the other half after doing school work. Anywho, I hope y'all enjoyed this chapter of ATIMH! The next few chapters are going to be on the longer side possibly so that's gonna be fun. Stay safe <3
