Immortality

You say you don't want to die?

Ha!

That is ridiculous.

Have you ever lived so long
So long you cannot remember what you've lost
What you've loved
What emotion is?

No, you haven't
Because you are lucky
You do not want to live forever,
And yet you don't want to die

When you're trapped, trapped with no way out
Well then, that's life my friend.

It isn't fair
That's how it is
So take advantage of whatever you can because
This poem is not about death

It's about life
Read the title, my fellow human
Take it by the reins, live it to the fullest
Be kind to others, for you will need friends along the way

Perhaps mayflies understand life more than we do
For it is so fleeting, they understand how precious it is

Do not crave death
Do not crave life
Crave instead, happiness

For you and all around you.
