Hi when I put things in italics it just means i'm thinking it in my head, sorry for the confusion!

I wake up to somebody's face above mine. My vision is blurry and I can barely make out a thing.

"She's coming around" I hear. I don't know the voice
"wh- who are you?" I say. My mind is racing with thoughts of what happened. Have I been shot? Am I dead?

No. I remember now.

Friday. March 6th, 2020
It's my first week at my new school, in March. I bet that It's gonna be hard to make friends.  Anyways, I moved here because my dad got a new job offer.

My house is pretty close to school so I can just walk to and from school. In California it's usually always warm but my parents said if it EVER rains (really unlikely) they'll give me a ride. I prefer to walk anywhere I can, even if it's hot. I'm not one of those girls who skate. Never wanted to, if I wanted something with wheels I would get a bike. The one with the little basket in the front that holds tiny dogs in the movies, so my brown hair can fly in the wind. I'm sure you know what I mean by that.

Anyways,
Today will be the first day I walked into my new high school. When I walked in I was amazed and scared of how big it was. There was this huge staircase that led up to a second floor and hallways everywhere I looked. Eventually, I found the office amongst all the crowded people and stepped in and a counselor greeted me

"Hi, are you Anna Wilson?"

"y-yes ma'am" I'm very awkward around new people.

"Welcome to Maxwell high!" she said, way too enthusiastic.

"Today you're going to be given a tour by Lauren Maxwell."

I wondered if it was a coincidence that her last name was the same as the school.

Nope.

Just then I heard two people walking down a hallway.

Out walked a middle aged man and his daughter. She had blonde hair and the bluest eyes i've ever seen,

"Hi Anna, i'm the principal Mr.Maxwell. but I like my students to just call me Greg."

I did a half smile as he shook my hand.

"And this will be your tour-guide for the
day, my beautiful daughter, Lauren."

Great. Justtttt great. Now I know why she was giving me a tour. She probably begged to skip class to "help" the new kid. Stop. I'm judging her too quickly.

"Hi! My name is Lauren and it's so nice to finally meet you!" she piped up

"Yeah, you t-too" I half smiled

Her dad spoke up once again.

"Once you two are done with the tour, come into my office for questions and lunch and we'll give you your computer and your information."

Computer?! At my old school in Maryland. We had to pay to get a locker and now they're giving me a personal computer? Wow this place is amazing.

"You two go have fun now, I'll see you girls later" "Greg" said.

No WAY i'm calling him Greg. I'd rather die. He's not my uncle or anything, gross

"Bye daddy!" Lauren hugged him as he kissed her head and said "Bye princess"

I held back a little laugh. That was kind of ridiculous. I don't know how old Lauren is but I wouldn't want my dad calling ME princess if I was 15. Just me? Okay.
